You get what you pay for. Think of Maaco as the Jiffy Lube of paint shops, or the Microsoft Paint of image editing apps.

^^^^^^ Those are the exact words I was going to use. You get what ya pay for man.

Hahahhhahhahahhhhhaah!!!!! You broke one of the commandments dude. You cannot say Maaco and "good" in reference to eachother.

BTW, when I was Supra hunting I came across one that had a "new" Maaco paint job. The muffler was COMPLETELY covered in paint. On the front, the exposed part of the intercooler was saturated. Looks like they basically mask off the glass, then obliterate the car with paint. No care. Probably have the same mentality as the dude making your burger at Burger King.

its for an older car .
the paint is peeling off it and it looks like its getting bigger and bigger , but i will be selling the car by next year and i just wanted to get its value up.

If you don't care about the quality do it but don't do it too soon before you sell it I had a friend that had a Maaco job done on his old mustang it looked like crap and then after a year it needed to be painted again.

lets put it this way...the car has black paint and the whole roof is turning into a dark greyish color.....i even used regular black spray paint on it to cover it up.....i'm guessing it cant get much worst for the car

My friend had his car painted by Maaco. He had a seafoam green Civic, and had it painted midnight blue. Looked great for a while, but after a year, the seafoam green began to surface again.

Ha Maaco, Would look nicer if you just painted it with a brush :)

Just to let you know, me and a lot of other people I know would rather buy a car with factory chipping paint then anything that went through Maaco. Maaco is a big turn-off to a lot of car buyers. Remember, most people think "new paint = recently crashed" :D

After Maaco is done with your car, get ready for two words smashed together that are now one, overspray. If the car is cheap, get cheap paint. If the car's not cheap, go elsewhere.

the car is not that old..but the paint really is bad on it..the whole roof is peeled off...so bad that i even spray painted the roof with a black spray.lol

well folks, most of the cost in painting is prep... if you prep the car yourself, mask it off, and get it towed on a flatbed, then you're pretty much good for maaco... it won't be the best, but the paint most likely won't bleed through if everything has been prepped properly... i think all maaco does is wash the car, then squirt paint

i would fine sand the whole car with very fine wet and dry sand paper. This will alow for a better surface for the new paint to stick to. I have seen a few maaco paint jobs. as long as you tape everything off good and take off everything you dont want painted.

maco is crap, they prep like crap, they paint like crap, they color match like crap...there's a reason a "Factory Quality" Paint job is 5k+...

Also, macco prefers to paint everything, like do locks, handles, molding, Wheels, exhausts, etc

i got a maaco paint job and it looks ok from a far but when you get close,LOL. paint chips, orange peel, runs, you name it , it has it. my friend who does professional paint jobs said , "your car is a prime example of a bad paint job" LOL

try earl shibe if you wanna go ghetto style.. they did a somewhat decent job on my friends civic, and it only cost him like 400 bux.. of course there was overspray.. but if its an old car.. who cares.
