Engine swap into a mr-s, was hoping for more, went from a yank ecu to a UK one due to issue with the UK corolla engine not having evap system and instantly noticed it feeling weaker.

Mods are che swap header, apexi exhaust, blits LM induction kit.

They didn;t rev it past 8k from what I could so could this be the reason the power is so low? it looks like it started to drop on lift though

That figure is supposedly fwhp.

Thats a bit low but not drastic. The stock 2zz only pulls in the 160s for true wheel hp.

Do you have a 2zz ecu installed?

Yes mate, i currentlty have a UK celica ecu, 01 or 2 i think.

Looks like it's making poor power on the high cam profile. The torque peak should be around 6700 rpm.

That looks good for a dyno dynamics actually. The one here in town has been seen to read as low as 140s on a stock setup. Its a very stingy dyno.

Just wondering why they didn't rev it higher -- I guess you have the 02 with the lower rev limiter.

The 2zz makes good power up until 8400rpm. If there is away to remove the limiter, it would prolly help your HP.

Is that FWHP or WHP?

Had my idle control valve replaced as it had bust and a compression test and engine is fine. Also as I kept smelling the cat I thought it might be cat related so had the cat cut out the exhaust.

It still does not feel any different though so im going to try and get few more checks done any suggestions? could it be the uk celica ecu sucks?

go to a different dyno.

Am I the only one who noticed peak torque happened at around 3k rpm and dropped off after that? That would be part of your problem...

No, I pointed that out three weeks ago.

Does the UK celicas run the 340 injectors? That may be an issue as well.

Ilogik, for what it's worth, these dyno's read very low and if that really is 159whp (which I doubt) then that's an amazing figure for your set up.

Mind you, as other have pointed, the shape of the curve is more worrying/strange part.

Have a chat with Mabbs - he's got a friend with a 2zz swapped MRS and running a power fc. If he can lend you the pfc for a run on the dyno and you see a difference in the curve, you'll be able to work out if it's ecu related or something mechanical :shrugs:

Good luck with getting it sorted :)

Nah, 310 yellows for every 2zz.

Is this a straight stock swap? I ask because that kind of power if it's at the wheels is good for a stockie. It doesn't explain the skewed torque curve though, the peak in lift at 6800 rpm should be slightly higher than the 3500 rpm peak.

He posted the Same Question over on Spyderchat..

Ends up the Intake was for a 1ZZ Spyder.. His Long Term Fuel Trim was -25!!!

Needless to say the Ignition was a little retarded!..

He is trying to source a 2ZZ Intake for the next test..
