Hey I was going to get a new shift knob so could you guys post some pics of your knobs or tell me a cool one that you have seen. I really want the trd aluminum one, but was wondering where is a cheap place to buy them.

I just bought a momo shift knob. I installed it but the fitment is pretty weird. There is a gap between the knob and the boot. Is this a normal thing?
If I If someone has a momo shift knob, can you tell me how do you guys fix this?
Thanks

I have a momo knob too. yeah, there's a gap, but I've learned to deal with. You wanna know how??? I took it off and put the stock knob back on. The stock one looks nice with the TWM SS.

i had 2 trd ones, both of which finally died. the threads got screwed up on my aluminum one and then the black paint or whatever it is started flaking off the top of my CF one. underneath the paint was just some kind of gold material whcih left it a little to bling bling for me. so now i'm back to the ugly stock one. and i've just had bad fitting experiences with any other aftermarket shift knobs in all my previous experiences. maybe one day there will be some that actually look good and fit properly without messing up.

I fixed it, you have to take off that silver thingy from your shift boots and it would look good without any gap.

You should also remove the spacer that holds the silver looking thing up. You pop up the litlte console thing to where you see the shifter, and take off the little white piece of plastic that holds the boot up. Scoot down the boot and put the shifter lower.
Btw, I'm gona try taking the silver part off andputting the boot over the bottom of the knob.
Good luck

i have a momo shift knob and i cut the top of the rubber spacer that comes with the shift knod so it would slide down farther and then tightened it and have no gap what soever and it sits about stock height.
i know how to fix that gap thing...
i have the TRD CF shift knob and love it and i have the same problem with the space. dont just deal with it.. fix it... first thing is that you should know that you have to remove that white plastic ring for the shift knob to thread and by removing it the shift boot sits too low.. so to fix this..
1. buy some rubber washers that will fit around the shift knob(i forget the size.. just bring that white plastic ring to a hardware store and find one that are a little smaller)
2. buy a small hose clamp
thats it!.. just get a pencil or something and stick it up the shift knob to measure out the lenght. then subtract like a few mm to like a cm from that for extra space and play. on the shifter add the hose clamp and 2 washers over that. with the hose clamp, the washers will sit right over that.
now dont tighten the hose clamp just yet.. the washers should fit snug on the shifter so add the boot over that and then push it down till it sits over the washers. with the pencil or whatever you used to measure the lenght of the shifter's hole.. push the boot down and let the washers slide down. stop when the you get the exact lenght and then tighten the hose clamp.
reapply the plastic cover and now the gap should be gone. if not, move the washers and clamps up. with the rubber washers it will allow you a little bit of play since its rubber.. so you'll get a nice tight fit with it. should be like 2-3 bucks for those and you dont have to remove that silver metal thing

Is this what you guys are looking for??? :D :D
BTW, that is a stock shift boot, and when I took those pictures the boot got sucked in and thats why it looks tall...but is actually the same height as the stock.

actually, that is the same height as the stock one.... just that the boot got sucked in and gives the impression of a high shifter
yeah.. thats what i meant. looks like the shifter has an erection

I have the same one. It looks higher that it actually is. I put in a TWM SS so the pics will look a bit shorter. The ring is the stock ring turned upside down.
