i hope to start welding the rear end this weekend but it depends on how long its gonna take to mill these parts this week i dont wanna rush.

You should PM Shizuma about tuning. He's really good with PFC's..but chances are that you will go with another ecu for the 2jz

yeh man tanner was so cool i got to talk to all his tecs that were there they gave me great insite on how to do this and keep it as stock as possible if there is such a thing lol but the stock frame rails in the front will hold the motor with allmost no moding i was impressed they also helped me with some ideas on how to do the wiring :)

^ Lol. I think you could probably use the celica body and an old fiero chasis. The Fiero has many kits to put an LS1 in them anyways, and they're also mid engine drive. IIRC, the wheel bases similar.
Just drop the body onto the chasis and poof. jk, I know it's not that easy. :P If only though.

When I was relocating the ECU/fuse block I went through the electrical manual and literally threw out about 10 lbs worth of wires, connectors, and assorted bullsh!t that weren't going to be used anymore (ie: a/c, power steering, emissions stuff etc) and that's with still using the 2zz.

ok started to work on gettting the car to where i can put a front bumper on it.. when i bought the car the girl that onwed it rearended a truck and the hitch went right through the hood latch so it destoryed the support that held the bumper in place so im working on fixing that

these are the supports that come off the fenders they were bent a lil so i just cut the ends off so they would work

ok now on to motor mounts the first thing im gonna do is make the stock frame rail thicker to weld one part of the mount to and im going to do some reinforcing of the frame rail with some tube steel

Not sure what the thickness is on that steel but it looks a bit heavy. Just a suggestion but have you thought about just using angle iron? And is you're just looking to add material for a heavier weld you can just use plate.

ok so im modding the factory gauge cluster today im keeping some of the stuff on there working and then modding speed and RPM i will have pics up soon

1.your going to need to push these tabs down on the clear portion only first

3.there is one gold screw at the top your going to need to take out. its just above where the wiring plugs into the gauge cluster

5. now your going to need to mash the black tabs down

7.now to change the face your going to need to remove the gauge needles there kinda tuff to get off so dont break them

8. now that there off your left with this you need to lift the black face or what ever color your face is off starting on the corner with the fuel info there are 2 peices of double sided tape that hold this on they come off very easy just dont rip it

from here to put it back is easy just work backwards and if u change the face your gonna need to pull the stops out of the face u will need them for your new face and just a trick to make shure that your gauge needles are in the right spot hook them up with your new face and turn on the car and reinstall them where they go

also when you remove metal you make the car weak so the less you cut out the stronger it is

You can get away with removing material if you strengthen the chassis first (stitch-welding seams, a roll cage tied to the various pillars and suspension pick ups of the chassis, chamfered holes) and start by removing ancillary system mounting points.

You'd be surprised (or not, since I see this is not your first rodeo) of the amount of weight that can be removed if you don't have to remount various interior panels, carpet, A/C, PS, moonroof, etc. I don't know how far into the "track" car you're going to go but since you have the engine out and the car stripped, now would be a great opportunity to cage the car or reinforce the chassis.

If you don't want to run a cage in the car or mess with tube bending and the cost of DOM tubing, one route you could take is reinforcing critical areas of the chassis such as the strut towers, A-pillars, and fender/wheel-well areas with extra OEM components; literally welding on extra OEM sheet metal to the existing chassis. This would not only increase the rigidity of each panel two-fold, but would also retain the ability to run the stock interior. You could also add additional mounting points for high stress areas such as the front crossmember.

nothing new yet man i have been playing the waiting game for parts to come back from c&c and trying to sell parts so i can get the few things i lack the only big thing i lack right now is a wide body. i talked to one of the guys on the fourm and they gave me a good price but it would be great if i could get one at cost if someone wanted to sponsor the car :gap: but thats not gonna happen :wtc:. any way as soon as parts come back i will post up some pics the main that that has been going on is getting sizes and trying to fig out wiring ect... but its looking good at this point.

That one! It's so simply awesome! My bumper cover is beat up from rocks and a small accident, so I've been looking for a replacement. I was going to go with the 03+ stock one because the rest of the aftermarket kits look a bit too wild for my taste, but that one there is sexy and is what stock should have been.

If you REALLY want that front bumper go to the vendor section of this very forums, theres a vendor selling the complete tsunami authentic kit. The front bumper runs you at least 1 grand though.

we have more cutting to do the motor is about to come back out as soon as the mounts are in and the drain is cut so the motor can slide back 5 more inches, also the hole for the shifter needs to be cut when the motor is in its finial spot. as soon as the motor is out i am replacing all the seals in it.

also i think that this would be a good spot to give u guys some history about this build. i was thinking to my self oneday man a 2jz celica would be fun... so i posted on facebook "a 2jz celica would be dope... hmmm i think i may" this was a joke at first then my buddy don said oh josh you and your pipe dreams............ later that night it pissed me off and i was at the bar with my buddies and said if i do this will u help they said yes and it started by buying parts and having no plan. its turned out to be a super fun build and way to easy.

yeh i have a answer for the wiring now i have somone splicing the 1zz harness into the 2jz harness so it will be plug and play and keep my gauges down side is its costing me 1k and it will use the 2jz ignitor

lol HUGE SINGLE TURBO t66+ im still playing with turbo set up ideas but its a 2jz so bigger is better i found a t88 kit with a quick spool but that is going to be later down the road i have no goal for HP as of now. its going to be stupid fast with just the stock 2jz in it and im going to upgrade things as i go, well stock ish i have a set of BC cams, stage 2, i also have a set of cam gears USDM 2jz injectors 550cc, down pipe, apexi N1 exhaust, apexi SAFC, fuel cut defender, and some other goodies i also am going through the aresto and replacing all the seals. my other plans are to go to HKS FCON or a standalone ecu, a huge single turbo, big fuel system, TiAL BOV and gate, sheet metal intake mani or the veilside< if i can find one, R154 trans or V160 depeding on what i can find, exedy clutch, LSD, and other mis parts
