I'm thinking about getting some "Bridgestone Potenza RE960" tires for my GT to go on my stock rims. These are "Ultra high performance" AS tires.
Anyone got any experience with them?

I had a worn set on some tires that i bought.
They didn't grip very well.
I could spin the tires for a good twenty feet shifting into second from redline in my GT

Then dont treat nice tires like that 2kgtrd?
I bought a brand new set of these a while ago, they have been the best tires i've had on my GT with stock rims. Love em. GREAT traction in dry as well as heavy rain. I live in the south so no experience with snow.
But if you can get them I recommend them personally. Mine were pretty expensive though, but I havent seen signifcant wear yet.

Actually. My Celica has been retired from winter driving in snow and most inclement weather as I also have a '09 Yaris HB for commuting to work, etc.
I'm more interested in dry/cornering traction than anyting else (with wet traction a close seceond) and a smooth ride
They get great reviews on tire rack and are realtively inexpensive.
When sticking to the stock size, you are somewhat limited in tire choices..
Anyway, thanks for your input. :)

I have the grids (not pole position), and I love them. I am a spirited driver on stock wheels and they haven't given me any trouble yet. They also have a 50,000 mile warranty instead of a 40k warranty which is important to me since I drive so much.
Good luck!

I just had the Bridgestone RE960 tires installed today and so far, I really like them and they are not even broken in yet.
They replaced the "Michelin Pilot Exalto" which were OK but, way over priced.
I thnk the Brigestones are better.
