What is the difference between the standard and "extended" TRD exhausts. I have seen this referred to, but never understood. Is it as obvious as having a longer tail pipe or something else?

Extended exhuast is a little longer than the standard and is mainly used on Celicas that have the rear valanece on them!

The extended exhaust is for celicas that have body.
The Standard ish the opposite of extended

The difference is that the extended gives you a foot more of tailpipe that sticks out of the back. Why? To keep tailgaters back, of course!

....it's extended to keep it from melting aftermarket bumpers

Hey can you guys tell me this then: My car is stock right now, but eventually I want to go with a Kaminari body kit. Well, I can afford the TRD exhaust right now but not the body kit. Should I get the extended and have it stick out for now? Cuz if i go standard then Im screwed and cant use that exhasut? or can you make the standard an extended one by adding something? OR...hehe just wait till I can afford both at the same time. Thanks guys

If you have the money for the TRD Extended Exhaust, then get it. Then you have the choice of waiting until you have the kit and then put it on or put it on and have it stick out. Personally, I would get it and wait on the kit. That way you still have looks on the car. :wiggle:

hmm.. when i got my TRD extended exhaust, it was acutually cheaper than the standard by like 20 bucks... that was pretty cool. i had this one my car without a kit for almost a year i think. didnt look too bad, but damn.. looks so nice with a kit on :)
