I'm going to be running an aftermarket gauge cluster soon but I'd still like for the PFC to be able to warn me via the engine light for things like knock or INJ/MAF voltages maxing out. So I was thinking of running an external LED. Since the PFC actually just controls the ground for the engine light would it be okay if I ran a fused LED and connected the B/R wire from the ECU (the ground control for the engine light) to the negative side of the LED? The only thing I'm worried about is possible damage to the PFC if the LED actually pulls more voltage/amperage than the stock CEL LED.

You can check w/LEDMod on the current draw of the OEM. But, I think you're probably going to be OK.

That's a good idea. The only reason I'm concerned is that I remember the OEM indicator LEDs being abnormally small. I'll shoot him a pm.
