Harrisburg Area Meet

ok a few of us are looking at getting a meet together here in harrisburg... any one interested in driving down are welcome to come.. the meet is looking to be sometime the middle of aug... but we need to see how many poeple are willing to come first...

That would be the same as you meeting us at the garage in Broomall for an install or the bars in Manayunk for 21+ activity. If the crowd develops, maybe I'll take a drive out.

Deanna, I just emailed you about this... I didn't know you were planning this but I am definately in! Roger, give me a call and we'll see what we can come up with... any ideas where we are having this? I'd be willing to have a Beer-B-Q or something at my place depending on numbers of people... I probably have room for maybe 20-30 and parking is actually great, plenty of room for celicas in my parking lot!!! That would even make for some good photo oppurtunities! If its bigger than this we'll have to look else where I guess. Keep me posted on this meet.

I think Mid-August would be good, I don't know but this would free up more people if there are going back to school etc, those of us that have to work will be working regardless of the date...

Roger, Yeah thats cool just call me when you get off of work... the interview went well (I think) I felt confident about the Q & A, and they liked my work they said they would call me if they wanted a second interview so I could meet with the art direct from the Mannhatten office.... sorry I am getting off topic! Deanna, hope you and your dad got you struts all worked out and I will be waiting for a phone call from you too tomarrow after work... by the way, we are still going drinking one of these nights! and don't you forget it!

BX138, depending on where you are coming from in NJ its really not that far, and if you comming into PA on 78 its super easy to get here too. If you come into PA on 78 and go past Allentown and Reading just stay on 78, 78 turns into 81 and harrisburg is about 10 minutes off of that! No biggie, PM me if you have any questions... or just post them here, I check this pretty regularly.

Well, a couple of us went and checked out memorial Lake state park. And as far as we are concerned... Its the place! Its about 20min outside the city, but It will be fun for all of us to cruise there together, all we have to do is find a place in harrisburg to meet, but any parking lot etc will do for that. The park has parking for about 120 cars, so we shouldn't have a problem gets 30-40 of them (if there is that many people) and there are sand vollyball courts, BBQ pits, a small beach (no swimming though), picnic tables plus they lake is beautiful and will make for some good photo ops. A bonus is all of these things a just a few feet from the parking lot so we don't have to wonder away from the cars. And if you are feeling saucy there is even a boat rental for row boats, paddle boats, etc. So pack up the celica, board shorts, bikinis and the yacht (if you have one... maybe even a fishing rod if your into that) and get ready for the 17th.
The only other thing I wanted to mention (which is the only kinda negative about the place) is the is no alcohol permitted on the park property and it is patrolled on a regular basis. Do we think we can make it for a few hours without drinking? We can always go out later that night back in the city.

ok guys well the meet is saturday and i was just wondering who was coming... we are meeting at 1030 in harrisburg behind Denny's.... for those of u that want to come from out of town... u take the turn pike to 283 exit and take that north... that will turn into 83 north... then go to the union deposit exit and make a right and u will see denny's... we will be meeting back in the huge parking lot and then will go to the park from there....

Well Deanna beat me too it, (thanks D!) but I had some computer problems and couldn't post directs. Throw in a few more facts that might help. The turn Pike exit is # 19 for West Harrisburg... the rest of the directions are easy enough. We picked a place that is very easy to get to so it should not be a problem. If you are coming from outta town and are NOT taking the turn pike its super easy too. Coming from NJ or the Reading Allentown area take 78 towards Harrisburg, 78 will turn into 81 south continue on 81 until you see signs for 83 south take that exit and in a few miles you will see the Union Deposit exit, make a left off the exit and Dennys will be on your right. If your coming from the Baltimore DC area its a straight shot, take 83 north and get off at the Union Deposit exit make a right and dennys will be on your right.

Also just a reminder there are BarBQ pits at this lake, but burgers, dogs, etc is up to you, you also might wanna bring a chair or two if you got em. I will get a huge bag of charcoal for the pits.
