It's not the belt tensioner, coz they replaced that. It's a high pitched whining noise coming from the motor that increases with rpm...does anybody have any clues? Is it possibly feedback from my RF modulator from my LCD screen? Or perhaps a belt? Any help is appreciated.

Mine's started doing that lately. It only seems to do it with the AC on though. Not quite sure what it is, I'd be curious to find out also if anyone else has had this problem and knows the solution.

I've just started hearing this in my car too and I'm at about 21K miles. I never heard this before....Maybe it has something do with the air that is being sucked in just like with CAI's?

I have a similar high pitch whine too. It started a few weeks ago. Mine seems real loud when I first start then quiets down after I drive a few minutes. I took it to the dealership (it was fairly quite at the time) and he said something about the valve train. He said to keep an eye on it which means nothing. Next oil change I'm gonna ask them to check it. I have 22,000 on a GTS.

well just wondering but do you guys race your celicas, and also have any of you guys with whinning misshifted at high rpms, bc that can bend valves and cause a whinning sound. that happened to my car, its gonna be gone for a month, but i guess i got a turbo on my car but i have heard of bent valves on celicas bc of misshifts.
