Forget running 400bhp on your C60.. Mine lasted only 2 weeks with around 300BHP. My only suggestion to you is get an E153 Gearbox and buy the E153 conversion kit :)

here in the uk its kinda hard to get hold of the e153 gearbox and i really cant see myself getting my hands on 1 any time soon so i just have to drive like a b!tch till i get it.theres afew guys in the uk already running 320ish bhp on their c60 and so far so good :) i think i just have to push my luck and just hope for the best lol

I have, the final drives in them would break about every 3 to 4 months but that is with heavy drag racing. I wouldnt worry too much about it if yours is just a street car that wont see much time on a track.

I dont think those finals are going to be any stronger than the stock ones.

i dont think so too as i mainly use my car on track and some weekend of hard driving and maybe later in the future when i get bored ill crank up the psi and go all out.but i still need the LSD to help me keep the power down..i guess my only option is the e153 gearbox

the problem is not the final drive, its 3rd gear. what happens is under extreme torque the shaft with the gears starts to bow and once it bends enough, it slipps and the gears eat themselves up.
wheel hop is another killer. dont do it

Oh you're right, the final drives never break in the C60.

I guess that this means that even if someone upgrades the 3rd and 4th gears, he will gain nothing. Do I understand right?

There is a guy in Thesaloniki with the upgraded 3rd and 4th gears in his TS. he is over 400hp and doing fine. He had gone through two gearboxes that I know before doing the upgrade.

are you getting any wheel hop? i have about 50 passes on my C60 at 500+ HP and not one problem. im not saying they dont break, but its usually 3rd gear that breaks

Maybe the first one that went, went due to wheel hop in the begining, but I fixed that as quickly as I could. The next three that followed didnt, they saw minimal if any wheel hop at all. I go to the drag strip twice a week or once a week if there is a SCCA event going on near by so if they last for 3 - 4 months I am pretty stoked. Of the four C60's I have used, I never had one break the 3rd gear, and this C56 I have been using as of late seems to be holding together better than any of those C60's did. It seems to me that guys who drive theirs on the street more often seem to break that 3rd gear, and the people who track theirs more than they street them tend to break the final.
