Two things that I know of...

There's some bolt that could be broken at the end of the cam(a few people have) or you may be low on oil...

I was a quart low, and it was doing the same thing

I may have answered this in my post "lift not working"

I have had the same problem, but it doesn't always happen. I haven't taken it to the dealer because of that ("sorry but we couldn't duplicate the problem"). I'm interested to hear what they find on your car.

My dealer said that to me so in the end I took out the mechanic in the car and we stayed out going up and down the motorway until the car faulted. They then acknowledged the fault (after my 3rd visit). It takes more than a few goes at not getting into lift as I found 9 times out of 10 it would work fine.

So Vron, what was the problem and how did they fix it?

Vron, never mind my previous post, I just found your other post describing the fix. How long did they take to find the metal sliver, and, did it completely fix it?

Thats rediculous, they can turn lift on and off with the scan tool, they should have just done that a bunch.... Dealers suck.

Check the two bolts on the cam.

So what if it isn't the cam bolts? What else could it be?

I'll be checking these bolts soon, I'm having the same problems. My oil is fine, I just checked it. What's the torque specs for the valve cover? Are these bolts in plain view? Can I just swap out the broken one with the proper tools easily or am I going to have to take apart eveything in there?
