So i was on my way to a buddy of mine installing a security system + components for door...ive never went to his house before so i put it in GPS. Its alot of twists and turns to get to his house but anyway; while i was in route to his house, i watched my navigation and was maintaining a 35 mph (speed limit was 35) and constantly looked a gps for future turns. Happened to TOTALLY miss a stop sign...i didnt tap my brakes or anything....i didnt even look to see if anyoen was coming...(I really think the stop sign was hidden...ill go look tomarrow). Here..i made a picture in paint. This was about at 6:50,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/Tug_bran612/Untitled.png
anyway im 5 mins away from my house(6:55) and i was told to be there at 7...i get a text from him saying "yea i wont be home for another 20 mins"...so im like bleh...so instead of going to his house, i wanted to see where these roads will take meh. i take a bunch of random turns just trying to burn time...and end up at the grocery store where i saw a nice stingray vette...i pulled infront of him about to check out his ride to find a police officer in my driver side mirror...The time is now 7:05ish... he motions meh to roll down window and says he has gotten reports of me driving like a maniac on olds jonesboro road....and i told him i wasnt going fast, but i did infact run a stop sign..and he asks for ID and all good stuff...and im thinking to myself...why didnt he pull me over 15 minutes ago...and IF he could give me a ticket. But then hes like "well, ill let you off the hook since you were honest with me...but you better start paying more attention"

Cliff notes: I run a stop sign at 6:50, cop walks up to me at 7:05 and tries to give me a ticket, but doesnt.

So im wondering...was it possible for him to give meh a ticket since he didnt see it?

Lol nice painting.
Thanks..it was better to paint it rather than to say it...but i thought about it, and if i DID get a ticket, i think i could have easily fought it and won.

You can get tickets easily. People on the highway can call in to the police with your license plate number and they can send you a ticket/citation in the mail if it's more than just one person calling it in.

I doubt that. The police officer would have to see you in the act of breaking the law to give you a ticket. If your story was the case, I could get your license plate number as well as give it to 3 of my buddies. We could then all call in separately to report you breaking the law and you would get cited even though this wasn't true and the cop didn't see you do it. However, they could pull you over and say they have reports of you breaking the law and ask you if you did. Then:vvv

@Salincer Do NOT ever admit guilt to a police officer especially if he or she did not see you break the law. You won't be able to fight it in court if you do that. It's referred to as the 5th amendment and you give it up by admitting guilt. If that cop really saw you break the law, be sure you would have been cited. I will try to find some videos for you about how law enforcement constantly try to use careful words to make you give up your basic rights out of fear and trickery. I'll post here when I find them.

Check out this website. Although there probably isn't something on there for your exact situation, you will learn the basic tactics they use.

As for my experience with this: pulled over more than 20x, 5 tickets, fought 2 in court without a lawyer and won. I'm down to 3 tickets now.

Interesting. Thing is, i didnt know if the cop seen me or not....thanks for the advice...I thought about not admiting it, but i figured it might be best too. So if i said "Nawwww that aint me"...he couldnt have done anything?

then you would have never heard him say "well, ill let you off the hook since you were honest with me...but you better start paying more attention" and found ways to give you a friggin ticket.

so fact is that some person(s) reported you driving like a maniac which you weren't cuz you said you just took a few extra turns to kill time, during the time in which you ran the stop sign you didn't see. so cop didnt know anything bout the stop sign incident.

btw nice illustration;)

I don't know. There's too many variables. I don't know if he saw your or not or exactly what you said to him. All I'm saying is don't admit guilt unless you know there is no way around it in court. I also don't know if there's anything illegal on your car. If he was bored, he could have started to look at your car under a microscope.

I have been pulled over before due to complaints from other drivers. I was just driving "too" fast. Highway patrol pulls me over two towns over after about 20 minutes of being off of the highway where I was speeding. Asks me where I was coming from so I told him (I could have lied here if I really wanted to. It would have been easier too.) He told me he had complaints from other drivers calling in about a black Toyota doing excessive speeds. I pretty much told him I was on the highway, but I wasn't speeding and that the black Toyota was probably still out there so he needs to go find him. This guy knew I was lying, but WTF could he do?... get me for something else?

He tried to get in my car to search it and I denied him w/o a warrant. He broke out his "window tint measurer"(for lack of a better term) and start on all of my windows. He even tried to say my exhaust was too loud until I asked him to measure the decibels for me. That would have been like writing me a speeding ticket by saying my car sounded like it was going too fast.

I'm not trying to jack your thread. I just wanted to give you an example of something along the same lines as what you had in regards to police pulling you over without actually seeing it. You just have to be confident when dealing with cops. No, I didn't mean respectful. I have been both respectful with cops and confident with cops and I haven't noticed a difference yet. I have more fun being confident when I know that all of my sh!t is straight on my car and they can't get me for anything.

my guess why he didnt pull you right over is to check if you were speeding or anything lol, but hey if he didnt see me and give me a ticket i would just say no when im at the paying ticket thing, dont argue with the cops they will hurt you lol, watch some on youtube lol,
