I recently got a JL 500/1 to power one of my JL 12W6v2 subs. It was a replacement for my 300/2. Unfortunately, I had 8 gauge wire ran from the battery to the cap/amp. After a few minutes of running the JL 500/1, the 8 gauge wires litterally melted. :(
Time to rerun with 4 gauge wire. :)
