Ordering 2002-03 GTS

I want to order a 02, or 03 GTS. But I wanted to know if you have to get a sunroof. I went to a dealer, and they told me Toyota will not build a GTS without a sunroof. I just was wondering if the salesperson was right, or don't know what he's sales.

I don't have one either & didn't want one as it takes about 2" off the headroom, and my head hits the sun roof. I do know some dealers that will only stock GTS cars with sunroofs. I went to one that was part of an alliance with other dealers & they fixed me up with what I wanted.

The first toyota dealer i went to was trying to smart talk me and told me a 6 speed is 1 grand more than an automatic because everyone wanted a 6 speed and said i couldn't get a GTS without a sunroof.. Went to another dealer than they hooked me right up..

my GT-S has no leather, but sunroof. And it is a special order took them 4 months to get me the car. But it was worth it tho.

Not really, you could try but this is what I did and got the free toyota alarm. (RS 3200)

At first the dealer told me my car will be here (canada) in about 3 months. So I called them up when i had waited for 3 months. But then the salesman said the celica was on a back order, so it will take a bit more longer. Along with that, he also gave me bunch of BS explaining why my car was delay. Then I called manager and b!tch at him about the way I was treated on the phone and how the salesman lied to me blah blah blah. Also i told them that I will come in and take my deposit back the next day........Then 5 mintues after I got off the phone with the manager..the manager called back and he apologized to me and blah blah.....in the end he said he'll throw in the alarm free of charge and knock off transportation fee as long as I will not take my deposit back.

o btw.... my family and my dad's company had bought total of 6 cars off that dealer....

So i guess you can cross your finger and hope your car will be delay.

On the 2002s there is a rev limiter fuel shut off at 7800 rpms, while it is being set back to the 8300 rpms as on the 00 and 01 models. I think they are doing a few other modifications, making it better for 2003 read around the forums.

Trust me man, wait a while and have them special order a 03 for you with no sunroof. You'll save money and be able to choose everything on your car.
