I just scraped the side of my car and now there are all these marks on the paint. The scratches aren't major, kinda like smears. Does that GS-27 scratch remover as seen on tv work? Any one tried it? Any other suggestions on how to remove these scratches? Thanks.

yeah, it works pretty good on like swirl marks and stuff, like surface scratches. anything deep you wont be able to do anything with.

Ouch, sounds all too familiar to me. GS-27 does not work very well. Does it remove scratches? No. It works more like a wax to me. Be careful, if you don't remove it FAST it hardens and that = bad. Let me know what you are doing. I have a bunch of other scratch removal tips.

Any tips would be useful. My friend said he can do it for me using some solution and gasoline. Any one ever try that? He said it could be jus paint from the pillar that i scraped.

get an orbital buffer and use some medium cutting compound and see what happens (be careful it can eat through your paint if your not careful) but that should take out everything that is only on the surface. If that doesn't work it sounds like you need to repaint it.

It doesn't work on all paints. Once type of paint it works really well on is "metallic". Other then that, I tried it on other cars and it doesn't work. And it only works on surface scatches, anything that is deep and you are out of luck.

I have the Gs-27 scratch remover and it works bad @$$. Its pretty good with the scratches which are surface only and sometimes if the scratch is a little deeper just try harder for a longer time, but the metal down scratches just forget about it.
Either ways, Its a good scratch remover, there is a kit that sells with the GS-27 with the crayon looking pencil fillins for the scratches but that is so rare to come by. I have only seen that once at Walmart and thats it. I'd say buy it if the scratch os not deep.

By the way I have never got my hands on the crayon fillins so I don't know how good it works.

Good luck, by the way, that sucks with the scratches. Bye.:p

GS27 is crap. It works the same as any other off the shelf scratch remover. Please don't try anything with gasoline until you consult a body shop. They can actually see the scratch and give you the best advice.

Try 3M Rubbing Compound Fine Cut for removal of 1500 grit or finer scratches. Works wonders on my car. As long as its not too deep or wide of a scratch.
