1. edit/modify your image to the way u want it to look.
2. if html mode is on do <> around img src="link to image", then put <> around /img directly following it in your sig preference/section.
tada!

okay. i'm going to leave the last > and substitute it with a ]. do it just like this:
<img src="your image link here"]</img]
put this where your sig would go.

let me see if I have this right.
1)go to "user cp"
2)Edit profile
3)Under sigature do the following:
<img>www.whateverthelinkis.com<img/>
Right?
I couldn't see the picture you posted.

crap. it didn't show. how about replacing the ( with < and the ) with <
(img src="your image link")(/img)
and if you want to link the image to a webpage, do this:
(a href="link")(img src="your image link")(/img)(/a)

Thanks for the quick lesson, and the link. I've been trying to figure out how to get the dolphins posted.
Does the same apply for the header to the left?

You'd think that after a year and a half on NC.org, I'd have figured out these things.
Never mind my last query.

Here's a better one.
How do I make a icon into a jpeg? Or shrink jpegs so they mee the avatar requirements?

well that all depends on what program you have for images.
I have "acdsee" and it's great. lets me browse my computer and all it's files and see all the images it has. well this program has an edit section that lets me resize images. easiest way is to just find an image online and use that.
