Was coming home tonight from fixing my coilovers (were making a wierd sound). Was heading down our main road, 2 lanes each way with a turning lane. Was the only person in the inner lane and 5 cars were in the outer lane and started slowing down. I kept cruising when all of a sudden BAM! airbags deploy and my car skids to a stop. Some kid cut off the cars in the outer lane and smacked my car in the front passanger side of my car. My car skidded to a stop, the front was crunched into a triangle, fluid everywhere... i left a 1 foot wide 12 foot long battery acid stain on the road. Cars totaled :(
sigh..

both of our cars are totaled... his car got spun 180 degrees, facing the way he came out of
adjuster is supposed to come tuesday (thats when the police report is finished) and ill find out for sure... the cop said it was totaled and looking at the damage im sure its totaled. my axle is bent, all the frame support on the passanger side and front engine are destroyed.. i was picking up the containers off the road for my different fluids
the cop said i was totally *not* at fault so i just have to wait for the adjuster then get my check and start parting out the car and lookin for something new
you had one of my fav cars on the board. i especially loved those rims....least you are ok..what cars are you looking into?

I hope you had a good relationship with the insurance agent. You might find out the hard way what the insurance company thinks a body kit is worth.
Make sure the adjuster sees all the records and reciepts for the car, they mght appraise it a bit higher.

I'm glad you didn't get hurt any worse than the broken toe. Too bad about the car. But there are always more of those to be had.

That sucks man, but it is good to hear that you are OK. Your car getting totaled is a shame, you were one of the few people I have seen who could pull off having an aluminum wing.

Thank god you are OK . I have said this before and i will say it again Our cars are SOOOO safe. comming out of that wreck with only bruises .. is not only a miricle but also goes to show how well made our cars safety specs are. Btw did the airbags work well..... i hope you didnt get burnt from em.
In all glad to see that you are ok ... your probably still shaken up (i know i still would be), and hope to see ya in a new 2003 soon. You designed that car beutifully:thumbup:

Everett, it's John. I'm so sorry man, I just got the news from Justin. Just look at it this way, you're okay and you just sold your car. I know you...and I know you'll have something twice as bad as the old celi in a couple months. I tried to call you but I got a busy signal, I'll try to get up with you later. Sorry again, John

my car is pristine from the firewall back, i was very pleased with the safety of the celica. i barely felt the airbag, after getting out of the car all i felt was a lil pain in my nose, but i got a big nose so i had cushion + cushion ;). as far as my aftermarket parts go, the only thing i see that was messed up was my front bumper, im hoping to add in my kit as the action package to raise my value somewhat... i find out tomorrow, wish me luck! :(
as far as new cars im looking at celica all-tracs, 92-95 mr2 turbo's, non-turbo supras, and another celica... theres a local gt-s 6 speed for sale
my best bet will be another celi, then ic an just transfer parts to the new car and upgrade from the gt auto to a gt-s 6 ;)

From one wrecked Celica to another, the good thing is that you're relatively ok. Good luck in whichever way you choose.
