engine making wierd noise when accelerating

Hi.

First i would like to state i dont understand alot about engines etc.

I have 2001 Celica gts whit 106k on it. Recently i have started to hear small wierd knocking noise from engine when accelerating only when on road if i try to recreate it on my backyard i cant hear anything it only happens when accually moving.

Im taking it to stantard maintance next thursday is there some usual parts that wears out and creates this and i should say them to check em?

tell them to check it, could be something simple or could be rod knock

Can i drive whit it to work next week or should i borrow friends car for next week till it gets checked

Difficult to say without actually knowing what is going on. Don't take chances, if you can borrow your friends car then do so.
