Question about rims?

I've been hearing one thing and another about rims. Hopefully someone can set the record straight for me. I have stocked 15's on my celica and I wanted to get 17's. Are 2 sizes up illegal? And what is a alpha davis or something like that I dont know how to spell it?

from what I understand you can go up to two sizes on rim size and one and a half on rim width w/o needing an Affidavit.

ie- 15" x 6.5" up to 17" x 8" with out needing an Affidavit.
ie- 15" x 6.5" up to 18" x 7" you need to get an affidavit from
the shop you got the rims from.

An "Affidavit" is simply a legal document that states that the parts put on to the vehicle are legal and within the specs of the vehicle.... basically it dismisses the city & county from all liability that might happen due to this "modification".... sooooo technically you could slap 19's on your car jus as long as you have the affidavit to show the recon dudes.

You'll have no problems at all getting your 17's passed thru recon. Most shops around here will give you the affadavit free if you buy the rims from them.

Are you asking about "Alan Davis"?? It's by the peninsula between Sandy's and Makapuu... everyone goes offroading with their 4x4s there, it's a lot of fun at night.
