Opening this thread up for ideas or anyone who can possibly give a better insight on how to fabricate custom under trays out of aluminium. There was some good interest in the 2zz-ge performance section so lets discuss it here.

Not much, if any. More cutting than anything.

Aerodynamic designs
Flat all the way to the rear crossmember, then a 10 degree or less angle out to the back. You'll want holes for the oil pan and tranny to get some cooling, as well, and holes at jack points. Add 1" or so tall flat vertical flaps in front of the wheel wells to smooth airflow into the tires and around wheel wells (stock has these up front, as well). Lots of other small optimizations you can do, but a flat bottom and slightly angled rear are the main starting points, and will be the biggest improvement over stock.

Undertrays? You mean like an underpanel that goes underneath the car right? I'm just trying to figure out if we're talking about the same thing.

^^^ Same thing, similar to C-One's panel, but with much more coverage.

Ohhh okay yeah that's what I was thinking then.

Again, I'd love to see some sort of coverage for the rear so it's not a parachute.

So... who has a 4-foot caliper?

;) ^I do :naughty:

@ 1/10" thickness
36" x 24" runs ~$45 sheet w/out shipping

IDK how thick this would need to be but any more than 3/10" seems excessive
