This is weird as hell. My mom's car battery was dead today, and I had no idea why. The lights weren't left on. However, I noticed that the overhead "dome" light was on. I thought that maybe one of the doors was open, or the trunk, but nothing that I could think of (the 4 doors or trunk) were open. So, I have no clue why the overhead dome light would be on even though everything is closed. Also, there is no switch for it, so that can't be it. Anyone have any idea what could be keeping it on?

lol, just a few days ago our Ford Windstar's battery was dead to the point the engine wouldn't turn over... I found this out by cranking it and it not starting.... However, when turned the key to try cranking it the headlights turned on and wouldn't turn off..

Now, in our aerostar when the battery was gone to the point the car wouldn't crank... the alarm went off and wouldn't stop for anything...

I don't know what the car makers were thinking when they did this crap.. I guess it's to let you know the battery is dead but... common, a little "idiot" light would be enough...

In some cars, the dimmer switch turns on the dome. If it is turned up all the way, it can turn this on whether the car is on or not. Check it. Kills the battery overnight no prob.
