Hello,

I want to replace my stock spoiler with a TRD spoiler in the future.

However, the guide in the installs section is broken links. Also, I couldn't find a tutorial via search.

I just want to see a tutorial in case of any unforeseen things when doing installation & removal.

Remove stock spoiler, drill five more holes into the hatch (if you have the authentic TRD spoiler), install spoiler, connect third brake light into the plug that you fish out of grommet at the top left of the hatch frame, done.

He has a stock spoiler already so i'm pretty sure no extra drilling is required. But the rest of the instructions are legit

You will need to drill more holes.

once you get your trd spoiler, you'll know what to do. look at the bottom of the wing and drill corresponding holes.

Incorrect. As I stated, if he has an authentic TRD spoiler, he will have to drill more holes.

i can vouch for that. I have a rep. one ..... and i didnt need to do any more drilling. So if you want less work.... maybe consider rep. one.

the only drilling i needed was to make way for the brake light harness on my authentic spoiler on the drivers side(which i really didnt have to because you can easily squeeze it through one of the existing holes left from the stock spoiler).

otherwise the authentic spoiler reused the same 4 bolts as my stock spoiler.

I used to have stock spoiler and than got the authentic one on and no need for drilling just plug right into the same holes as the stock spoiler.. And like what atseen say.. You could just squeeze the brake light wired throw the holes.. Hope this help..

The oem spoiler has a protector between the spoiler base and the hatch, so
1. Does this protector will fit the authentic trd spoiler?
2. Does this protector will fit the replica trd spoiler?

Maybe somebody that already did this and knows the answers?

I am asking because when I bought my car it has a replica trd spoiler but there is no protector, so I want to buy the oem protector but not sure if this will fit my trd spoiler. My trd spoiler has only 2 bolts.

Thanks.

I got a rep trd spoiler it has 4 bolt holes. I removed my oem it has 2 bolt holes.

It also has in between the 2 hole a 2 nipple like bumps.

How do I remove the nipple like bumps ?and will 2 bolts hold my rep trd wing?

update I drilled holes in the wing for the nipples to fit up in and 2 bolts on each side of wing holds it good :)

bump for this topic. does anyone have part numbers for the grommets and cushions associated with the trd spoiler? theres a pdf for the valence install, so there's gotta be one floating around for the spoiler.
