As I was getting onto the interstate yesterday, and having a bit of fun on the entrance ramp, I was maybe doing 50-55mph in 2nd and all of the sudden there is a big drop in power, immedietly followed by a CEL and Oil light.... I pulled off as soon a I could get somewhere safe, but not before I heard a knock begin. After I got it stopped and opened the hood, there wasn't a drop of oil on the splash guard or on the ground, and the oil level is still full. I'm positive the oil pump gave out, and will at bare minimum need an entire short block. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't recall if I have ever heard of that. I sure hope this is covered under warranty...

Wierd. I had the same thig happen to me, but mysteriously I was completely out of oil. I could detect no leaks and I was well within the B.S. 3000 mile limit.

i've heard that the oil pump on these cars is the weakest link, not the valves...those come next :)
