I got a local guy who was going to make me one for each side that looked like the one in the ebay link.
I would keep my amps bolted to the backs of the seats.
...........$299.... :AF: really?

Good find, those look nice, I like the carpet over paint, and it appears to be more flush and use up less trunk space.

^^ Yeah that seems steep, especially with no sub.
EDIT: They're asking $330~$420 on thier web site for those!!! I see an OPPORTUNITY for someone to make those and sell them at a MUCH lower price (hint, hint)......

not hard to do. if you have ever messed with fiberglass or bodywork before. even easier if you carpet the box.
i do wonder how tightly it is secured in place.

I take it that none of yall have went to an audio shop to get a quote. You will spend about twice as much there and will have to leave the car for a day or two while it is getting custom made.
Considering the material costs and time it takes to do it, that's not a bad price; Also you don't have to worry about your car getting messed up in the process of it being made.
I make this type of box but it's not worth it to knock the price below $300, it wouldn't be worth it after the subtraction of materials and time.

I made one a while back ago and it cost me 100.00 in materials and 3 days work. I only made it with about 3 layers of fiberglass and it really doesnt sound anywhere as good as a regular MDF box.

Not thick enough..and it may have needed to be layered with some polyfill around the inside walls.

Do you still make boxes?
I'm thinking of putting an amp and a sub in my Celica soon. :wiggle:

Working with fiberglass isn't too hard, but just make sure you have a reeeeeaaaallly good mask to filter out all the particles. Really bad for your lungs. I was working with my fascia on the Z a while back and a guy was learning on his sideskirts next to me. Let me tell ya... the amount of debris that can be all around a beginner is mind boggling! The regular round masks that you can buy in Home Depot for like a few bucks just don't quite cut it. Make sure you don't go cheap on the filter.
