Hey guys,

I've dont alot of stuff to my celica in the last few years and the one thing that I always am thinking about doing to make the interior look cleaner is taking out the back seat and making it flush. My question for you guys is have any of you taken out your rear seat without adding a huge custom system that takes up the space where the seat to used to be? I have just a small "16 sub and I would like to take out the back seat and make it as clean as possible and just have the sub just sitting back there leaving a clean flush look. Pictures please.....

Unless your adding a huge sound system, I can't imagine a reason to remove the back seats. The trunk, to me, would look mis-proportiontly long for a two seat car.

Also, 16" sub isn't small in my book. (8-10" yes, 16", no)

Thats exactly what I am looking for. I wish you could do that for me (HINT HINT) I got the whole carbon fiber theme going for my center counsil and pillars and that is the exact flush I was talking about.

And I ment to say a 12" sub not a 16" that would be preatty ridiculous

i just removed the back rests of the back seats. it gives it ALMOST the same flush look without all the noise coming from under the seats. plus i can put stuff back there without having to worry about them getting scratched or having them roll around in the "bowl" of the backseats lol.

lol do they even make 16" subs?

i know Fi makes an 18" subwoofer. insane! idk how it sounds in person tho. i cant imagine itll sound that great. probably too boomy :shrugs:

Take your back seat out. Cut a piece of ply wood to the shape of where the seat once was and rap in in black carpet. Then find a way to mound it to the floor whether it be bolts through the wood (below carpet) or tabs screwed to the floor. Then to clean the empty space up and not make it look so disconfigured put a roll bar from autopower in there.

I dont hate that idea ^. I think Im gunna have to make a fabracation thread here sometime in the near future. Unless.....blitzceli decides to start making these again for a few members to make some extra cash......

That carpet is disgusting.

But the carbon idea is nice.

And if you do a rear seat delete, and don't wanna do carbon, then use 1/2 Inch MDF .. NOT PLY WOOD ... Ply wood will warp over time.

Hmm. Not saying your wrong but my dad never had a problem with his 1/2" ply wood in his convertible stang. Had it in for only about 6 months though before he gutted it.

I saw a pic somewhere that had a rear seat delete similar to the picture I posted, but he made it flush like the OP is talking about. He used some type of material to build it up over the piece the trd bar attaches to. Then he used carpet to lay on top, from the back of the front seats to the back of the car. Im still looking for the pic, when I find it Ill post it up.

Here is mine from my old Celica

I later mounted 2 12" Alpines in slanted truck boxes facing rearward behind each seat.

just take the fabric from the back of the seat and trace that design on some mdf or whatever you decide and then buy that di noc 3m carbonf fiber stuff and kabang! rear seat delete with a dry CF look....someone wrapped their console in the di noc stuff and it looks hella good I honestly prefer it to real carbon fiber, I'm considering wrapping some stuff in my car now...

If I remember correctly, Jlitman has a nice carpeted delete setup going. Need to get him to poke his head in here.

If you want something badass, you should make a light weight rear seat replacement like password jdm makes for the GTR

haha very nice! how does it handle? any difference? let me know how the TRD strut bar and your home made one compare performance-wise once you install your TRD one ;)

Sure, no problem.
But really? I don't think it will do much. Not with the one i have or with the TRD.. I think that the sways are the way to go. The strut bar, for me, is for "show"
