Is it normal for the gauges to have a hum when the lights are turned on? i spliced into the cig lighted wire to power it and it seems to have a humm or a buzz when they're turned on and it doesn't go away. It's very slight not even noticable with the stereo on. However i have another concern. The day after i installed the gauges my right rear speaker is barely working. It's not blown. THeres just barely any sound coming out of it. Could the wire from the gauges be causing interference with the headunit?...Because i had to run the wire around the side of it to splice into the cig lighter. I don't see how all of a sudden i would just lose the connection to my rear speaker. I really don't want to have to rip out my back seat just to check. I don't have that kind of time lately. Can someone PLEASSSSSSEEE help me out here? Thanks

well, they do hum a little. they may hum more if not getting proper voltage. if you have a voltmeter, see what voltage they're getting. if its near 12 or more you're ok. i noticed more of a hum from reverse indiglos that from indiglos. as far as it interfering w/ speaker wire it shouldn't. rca's, maybe, but not speaker wire or factory radio stuff. before checking the speaker, just unhook the gauges, or better yet, take out the fuse for the cig lighter. now the speaker would work find if the gauges are causing interference.

Make sure that you are not shorting with anything else in the fuse box where you attached your positive lead to the cig lighter fuse. Also make sure you ground the gagues VERY WELL otherwise they act funny. Under the stearing wheel there is a peice of metal brace that has a large screw holding it, I used that, striped a big chunk of wire and wrapped it around the screw and it solved a bunch of problems I was having with mine.

yeah if you're in the fuse box you could definately be shorting it with one or two strands onto another fuse, i'd check that if you tapped in there.

I have same problem(?) when it's turned on.... it's make that small buzz sound.. I'm kind of sensitive so it's annoying me...
I've tap the power from cigaret light, but it doesn't seems like it's bright enough.. but once I tap the actual cigaret LIGHTER.. it's bright.... but it's on all the time(when car is on)...
But need to find inside(prefer) of the car for 12V power which will turn on when the headlight is on...
Some one help.. I don't want to wire through the firewlll and to the parking light wire.....

the buzz is from the gauges clamping the indiglos in the top corner where they attach to the wire. it's causing the buzz from the loss of voltage. eventually this will cause the transformer box to overheat and melt, causing ALOT of smoke inside the car all of a sudden.

it did this twice to me before i figured it out. you need to replace the gauges ASAP and trim the cluster so it doesn't clamp the new set. until then TURN THEM OFF

I think it is normal for the transformers to make some kinda noise. I tapped mine into the 12V parking light wire, and they make a slight "bbeeeehhhh" noise. I think the transformers are not soundly made, and just get the voltage AC increase done. I've had it fail on me a couple months ago, but this was after a year and a half of having them inside of my car.
