just went to my local hardware store and got a flat piece of weldable steel and used a metal cutting jigsaw to shape it. then got a piece of rubber and bolted it under the steel. very easy and didnt spend more than like 25$

I've been looking for something like that for months. Is it really that easy?

step by step

1. buy steel plate (like 1/32 inch i think), rubber floor trim, 8 screws, 8 nuts, 8 washers
2. get a piece of card board and cut it so it slides under where the shift boot bracket would
3. measure where the center is (where the shifter comes up)
4. using a metal cutting jigsaw cut out the hole and the edge so it fits nice and snug.
5. i used 3m tape for the underside of the plastic where the steel meets it just for added security.
6 then drill the eight holes in the rubber piece and the steel and yr good to go.

very very simple i dnt even kno y i gave a step by step lol

Not bad at all.
What type of screws are you using? Looks like Philips head screws. If they are, it's a bit too Home Depot-ish. Swap them for hex/Allen head screws? :shrugs:

You may want to paint or clear coat it to prevent rusting where you cut.

should have got a small sheet of aluminum diamond plate... little more expensive but would have matched...
