i want to refinish my carbon fiber hoodscoop. the finish is facked..lol. anyways i took it to a body shop and they dont know how to go about it. has anyone done it? if so how and whats the risk? any info would be appreciated. thanks!!:wiggle:

Thats hard to do..ever worked on fiberglass? kinda the same. The resin and hardener mixture would be hard to get smooth. www.aircraftspruce.com This is a catalog with all the CF stuff you will need to build anything out of CF.You can order a catalog for free there is alot of cool stuff in there.

yet another reason why the working in the airwing division of the military is a plus. we have a shop that can do that stuff.. and for free!

they probably got it resprayed with clear coat. To redo the finish of the cf you would have to put it back in the mold and since its the top face you want to add to it won't fit back in the mold anyway.

i think youre right bout getting it resprayed with clear coat. **sigh** i hope thatll fix the prob. thanks again...TTT just incase anyone else has more info.
