My car is getting its A/C faceplate replaced today. you know, that plastic piece that is behind the knobs and sliders for the havc controls? all around the places where there are bends in the plastic, the paint is cracking.... strange eh? this is the second one in my car!

must be a common thing. i think

I have the same problem. I think it was caused by the people that installed my aftermarket headunit...probably due to the bending they must have caused trying to get it off.

nope, just have stock stuff in my car. i think it is heat related not bending or that sort of force related.
The funny thing is that all the other pastic parts don't do this. Just the ac face...

Ive had mine replaced twice now under warranty. I thought it was from the stuff i clean it with.

nope, it's common. I had mine replaced 4 days after I bought my car aover a year ago. It seems that this particular piece is painted poorly or something and the paint never cures fully, so it will wave, bubble and crack over time. However, the replacement they put on has been fine for over a year now.

good luck...I'm glad it's a warranty thing.
