Where is the main control unit located for the RS3200 Toyota Alarm?
My alarm is acting really strange where it automatically locks when the doors are open and does not lock when the ignition is started. I tried to program it and it did not respond. I also tried diconnecting/reconnecting the battery but that made no difference.
I want to check that everything is plugged in properly prior to going to the dealer.
Thanks

The Toyota RS3200 alarm is against the left side wall, behind the driver's knee pad.
There are connectors on the alarm, but there are also MANY additional alarm-only connectors, throughtout the vehicle. This alarm uses an overlay harness. The existing connectors, in a vehicle without an alarm, are unplugged, then the overlay harness is placed between the existing connectors.
The installation instructions are required to locate all the alarm connectors.

not neccessarily. the only wires to/from the cabin and engine bay are the wires going to the alarm buzzer. Other than that, the alarm's harness starts on the left side(near knee as stated). You should be able to just follow it all the way to the other side(right side, just below glove box). the harness should be strapped to a metal bar just below the steering wheel column, runs down driver side of middle console(just about to the shifter) up the passenger side of mid console, behind glove box to same area started from(but obviously passenger side). If i recall correctly, they're ALL plugs(simple), and I believe two(could be three) wires you actually have to splice into the car's stock wire harness. Let us know how you make out w/ your diagnostic excursion.
btw, I suck at explaining stuff...but honestly, shouldn't be hard to find all the plugs....pretty easy install, took all of an hour give or take.....the only pain in the butt is pulling off your interior...and even so, not that big of an ordeal...
good luck!
