I have this problem with my current alarm. It is made by Exclusive and I hate it. So I want to switch it out for a DEI or Clifford. I know they are the same company now days, but they are still a bit different. Any ideas on installation costs considering I am removing one first?

Also, I know Clifford alarms are more expensive, and I am looking for a basic keyless entry right now with the possibility of add-ons. Remote page would be nice, etc. In any event, I was wondering what accessories cost less, those for DEI or Clifford? I know you guys are big fans of Clifford Solaris alarms, but unfortunately I don't have $1000 I can drop on an alarm. I am looking to spend like $200-$400 right now with install. However it must have a wide range of future possibilities. Any ideas? The G4 technology sounds nice, but $$. How does Viper range in the whole scheme of things? or the new Matrix?

Thanks for your time and expertise.

Danny

If u wanna add a lot of add ons get an alarm with a lot of extra channels. Basically though u can add anything on any alarm, just get the right parts and a real good installer.

Ok, first... I believe that there was a thread about some of the differences between DEI and Clifford awhile back. If you search for it maybe you'll be able to get some good info from that thread.

Now to the short answer...

Clifford is nice (and it is easily expandable if you get the G4 technology). The new Matrix line is, for all intents and purposes, a Viper alarm in a Clifford housing.

Although it is true that you can do many things with most alarms..and more channels means more add-ons, the G4 allows add-ons w/o having to utilize channels. This also means that everything G4 works seamlessly with your alarm.

yeah I read through all the old alarm posts. I know you guys go through the same stuff all the time. I didn't know about the having channels vs. G4 stuff though. Very helpful. I think for this reason I am going to get something with the G4. Do all the Clifford alarms come with this technology? If so do any of you know a place with prices, or what the least expensive one would run? Thanks for all the help.
