i just recently started driving this hell of an amazing car, a 2000 Celica GT. I love it dearly, and i get just as excited thinking about what i could do to it as i do driving it. Looking through these forums i have seen so many options i want to do to this car, but im so confused on allot of things. My main concern at this point is is it worth putting a turbo kit on this car? i know doing CAI and exhaust/headers is hardly worth the money, but is it better to just look at my options as far as a GTS? I want to save up the money to do this....but then i realize "oh, well i should do a brake swap too, and transmission swap" etc. etc. And then there is the option of suspension mods too. So i dont really know where i should go from here.

what are your power goals?

Are you more into speed or show?
Since you own a GT, I suggest spending more time in making it look nice the way that you want. Just remember, you can spend $10,000 in engine mods. But the sad part is, there's always gonna be a faster car. Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide on doing.

lol you could spend 100,000 on exterior mods and it'd still be a celica worth less than 10k lol. That argument doesn't really work lol. At least with performance you have something subjective to compare vs body kits and rims lol

^ Well, it depends on the budget and what he/she wants to do with their car. I'm not sponsored or care about winning trophies. But my CELICA has gained a lot of rep and respect for being the way it looks from different websites and local car shows. When it comes down to speed or looks, they both can help you out in where you wanna go. :eatpop:

Celica is an all-show-no-go type of car. Mod the appearances instead of performance. Who gives a **** it's not fast? It looks awesome. If you're into HP then just sell the car and get something else.

Not many cars made in 2000 but looks like it's made in 2010.

Depends on if you have 5+ grand laying around, and love the Celica more than a car you could reasonably buy with that 5+ grand and the price of you car.

My question is it manual or auto? Exhaust and a CAI is a good mod, modest gains but still worth it. If you love it then mod it as you please. What are your plans for it? You gonna show it? Auto-X it? A disc brake swap in the rear is a good start. Don't listen to the blah blah get a gts crap the 5 speed gt is a great car and out handles many other makes so enjoy.:gap:

Just keep it simple and clean. Lower it, body kit (not hokey), and put some nice wheels on it. If you don't mind the fact that it's a GT then keep it. I would keep it stock and like everyone else said, just enjoy the good gas mileage. :gap:

You don't have to put that much money into it to make it stand out...

Keep it clean and stock. When it starts using oil then decide what you wanna do power wise.
What part of SC you in?

lower it, wheels, tint, nice stereo, call it a day - otherwise you're pissing into the wind trying to make (usable/practical/streetable) power in this thing.

Lowering springs/shocks, swaybars, adjustable endlinks, Powder coat your stock rims black. Get some good grips. Call it a day. IMO best bang for your buck right there.

Save another $300 or so and buy some wheels... Don't settle for used, you can just buy brand new. I would just keep the stock air box in and not mess with CAI. Work on making it look good and clean (sexy :gap:).

i guess i failed to mention how ****ty my paint is. The clear coat is destroyed, but its getting repainted to original color (red) in February or so. so i dont really want nice ass rims on my ugly cancer patient celica :(
but speaking of wheels, i dont think mine are stock. my dad bought it 2 years ago from some guy and it appears to have enkeis which i thought were an option or something. i have no clue how wide of a tire i can get on there, because i dont know what wheels they are. New tires are coming soon and i have no clue which way to go.

stechs arent a bad idea. invest in some rear camber arms so you can keep your treads lasting as long as they should. i have stechs, and i like the look.

my clears pealing too man.
+2 lol.

you can peal them off and look at them in the back. they'll tell you the specs. post a pick of them. my clears pealing too man. don't fell bad.

Why are you guys having this problem? Is it from past owners neglect? All a clear needs is a regular washing and a good coat of wax. I got lucky with mine, the previous owner was as big as a car lover as I am Haha.

i thought it was a common thing with this car. but i need all expert knowledge, my friend is currently arguing that these s-techs will blow out my struts because they are stock. he is saying it happens all the time with eclipses and all these other cars, but am i good? i need some serious copy and paste information to throw

my shocks are doing fine... had the car for three years, and they were on the car when i bought it.

Sometimes the most simple mods are the best imo. Lots of people I know started with CAI and exhaustand then moved to bigger mods. You'll enjoy the extra bit of go and you'll get better gas mileage. Plus they're easy installs so you can save that money and put it right back into parts! Oh, if the car hasn't been well cared for, it's not a bad idea to check spark plugs, basic crap like that.
