Sorry if this is a really dumb and basic question, but I know nothing of lighting. Is it possibly, and if so dangerous, to put just 5000k white bulbs in my headlights with having to put in a whole HID kit? I just ran into these on eBay while looking to buy some fog bulb replacements and I was curious if these would be worth trying? The eBay auction states that you can just replace the stock ones with these 5000k bulbs but I would rather get some of your guys' opinions before I try anything.
Thanks

those are for the high beam/DRL(daytime), look for H3 bulbs for your fogs and H7 bulbs for your low beams, if youre looking to replace them all. :)

Yeah I already have them in my cart haha.
So if I just ordered these cheap ones then I should expect them to really suck?

depends on your luck i guess, lol. I've bought luminics bulbs for my low beams before switching to HID and they lasted a couple months and then I gave them to a friend and they're still working fine. But then I've also bought no name H3 bulbs for the fogs and they only lasted for about 2 months.... so yeah, just hope they last for a while and maybe look to upgrade on the next set. :gap:

Phillips is one of the few bulb companies that doesn't sell junk.

In the Sticky thread "Info on Stock Bulbs" It shows that the high beams are 65W while the low and fog are 55w.

that's great you'll be fine, just know that the 5k bulbs arent exactly like the 5k hid.

My suggestion is retro-soluitions, HID kits. I was referred to this company by a member here about 6 months ago. They had great products, everything from economically costing kits starting at about $45-$50, to 35w which are at about $120-130, then up to 55w at $140-150. Additionally, when you get up to the 35w and 55w kits they both have LIFETIME WARRANTY, IMO that's a huge plus and incentive to buy too. I have the 55w in my fogs at 3000k and 6000k in hi's and low's. They are amazing. Can see the whole damn road with just my fogs on lol. Full digital output too, not like the generic loop models most companies offer. If you haven't already decided I think you should look into it. ;)
