I have decided to paint my stock 16" rims black because I can't afford my beautiful 18"s until next summer. Im doing black because I think it will look pretty sick with the white paint and black tint. I can't decide whether to do flat black or shiny black though. Which do you guys think would look better?

My first choice is flat black, but after looking at some pictures, flat black just looks a lot cheaper and less professional. I mean they also might be poor paint jobs though. Is there a way around the "average spray paint" look from flat that glossy doesn't have? Or should I not even worry about that and go glossy black?

Thanks for your inputs.

Stock GT-S wheels look nicer in gloss black, matte looks too home made and overplayed.

gloss looks like higher quality and are easier to clean

When I paint these, do I paint inside the wheel also? or just the most visible outside?

Just paint the inside and clear it when you're done... I would sand, primer, wet sand, paint, and clear the outside... Aluminum wheels are tricky because even when you do "fix" them, the corrosion comes through again.

Flat, glossy looks too tacky.

Or....OR...You can plastidip your wheels!

Haha you guys are all just opposing each other saying the exact same thing on each choice.

Does anyone have some close up pics of each to compare? I have looked throughout the forum and I can find close of pictures.
