hi,

I've been busted by the police at highway, the hard way... with another guy ina GTi 5 and they tuk us straight away our driving licence.. I dunno when I'll get back my licence, estimate minimum half a year, I'll give my best through my lawyer, but he said I have only very little chances to get out of it easy, coz they caught us in the middle and also recorded it all on cam.

Unfortunately I got all my parts for going Rotrex, but now I don't know if I shall wait up to a year for it or if I shall sell all parts and buy next year something else..

You're going to lose the case, point blank. They have it on camera and they caught you in the middle of a race. I suggest getting something that won't provoke you to race again, otherwise you'll just lose more and more money. Then again, if the judge were to find this thread he may take your license away fully and never have you drive again.

What are they charging you for? In order for it to be street racing they would have to prove a start and a finish. Otherwise, I think at best the could get you for reckless driving, which is still pretty bad though unfortunately.

My licence when I was just recklessly driving at 100 on my bike. No racing. Just going too fast on an empty freeway. If you dont have a record of it just fell them that you was in a hurryth at you're sorry. Tell'em you were caught in a moment of stupidity and they might go easy on you. But don't expect much man. If you get 6 month with no license, then take that time to learn a lesson and be thankful its not longer. If your a big boy and can break the law, be a big boy and take your punishment when your caught. In my state you can request all the evidence cop has on you before your court date.
You can ask court clerk for probation and/or driving school.
Make a deal with cop.
If that doesn't work, then look for lawyer.

Did you get reckless driving? It's considered misdemeanor here which is as serious as your first DUI. Definitely want to try everything you can. I hope you did not admit guilt to an officer.

The car of the police peaked at this mph not me, they had to catch up. I never went that fast.

I always give the turn signal, let pedestrian pass, give others presedence and have my security distance to the car ahead. It just was an exception, get it?

So now I'm considering keeping the Celica only for track issues and getting a SUV with AT and cruise control, so I can tow the Celi to the tracks in future and also use the SUV as my dd.

yeah, mine is also a hundred. And also a moment of stupidity. We didn't race, we weren't side by side blowing the horn and accelerating then, never did this anyway, I'm not Memphis from here, lol. We were just two guys driving to fast for only 2 miles, before and afterwards(after 2miles) I've driven normal as usual, then after driving again 5min the legal speed they took me out.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that your a idiot for doing something in the spur of the moment...but people on here are right you did put people around you in danger and even if you do trust your driving you never know about the fool next to you that you are racing (although in this case it may have been a buddy of yours idk) I always worrie about that kind of stuff. Thats one of the reasons why I dont take my car to the track very much because all we have near by is a 1/8th mile strip (unless you drive 2 hours away) that is on a slant and there has deff. been some close calls were people lost traction and almost took the car out next to them. You deffentley made me realize that it is not worth doing pulls on the street although I have never actually street raced anyone, I have done my fair share of 40-100mph pulls getting on to the interstate and wat not. I will deff be cutting that Sh*t out END O STORY. Anyways Goodluck with the case and the SUV to trailer the Celi sounds like a solid idea to me.

You know what guys in France are doing if they see someone coming faster? They change the row to the faster car so he has to slow down.

Only beeing a bit faster isn't the main risk factor on the street IMO.

In Germany several highways don't have a speed limit and no, they don't have more accidents because of it... If they go faster, adrenalin will be released in the body which provides the possibility to concentrate with more attention.

I'll nomore go that fast on highway because I don't wanna scare housewives, don't wanna mess with cops and their penalties and provoke young guys who can't drive and so on.

A CELICA. If 2 people can come in terms of racing each other w/o endangering anyone else, so be it.
Yea, the track is a good place that'd fall into that category, so would a long stretch of road, even if it is still illegal even if there is absolutely no traffic, and I'm positive some self righteous douche out there is going to be like "OH there is no way to be certain there's not going to be any traffic." Yea, there is. Road goes on for miles and you can see down it and there's no places for cars to turn in, it's just a straight road.. You can assume there wont be any traffic.

you could submit those videos to the police ALL day...nothing would happen. In fact...I invite you to try it; Alachua County Florida is where I am now. No faces, no names, no plates, no proof it was even me or my car. Also no evidence of where it even took place. It's a video in the dark of two cars. Only way something like that could hurt is IF i was CAUGHT IN THE ACT (like yourself)...now those videos would help prosecute me (they don't prove it's me, but they don't help my case if I'm caught either). Maybe it's a good time for you to know your rights...

Go turn them in too...They are in Broward County Florida (AWD/USP Motorsports...biggest Porsche/VW and Evo tuners on this side of the nation). These are the shop owners/tuners from the shop racing the cars with their first names in the Video as well...you really are hilarious.

This I actually agree with because I've done the same on deserted roads in the middle of the night. I'm not going to act like I've never sped before, we all have at least once.

You've never broken the speed limit? You've never went above and beyond the speed limit near another car doing the same? Here where i live, if your crusing down the highway two wide, or in a line going (usually significantly) quicker than the flow of traffic than the officers will push street racing. **** i got pulled over when I was following a corvette and we were going 7 over. The cop wanted to push street racing and announced the new campaign that was going on to prevent it. So what say you now?

I really think you missed the point. The op was making the connection that riding the bus while his licence is gone maybe he wont hate life riding public transportation. Just explain it was youthful indiscretion and you've learned your lesson. With a good enough grasp of the situation and an understanding of what you did wrong, you may survive with a suspension.... But i dont know the laws over the pond, nor do i know anyone who has got caught going so fast. I know they just started posting cops on along straight single lane devided highway where people were doing runs.... Be safe OP.

Just explain it was youthful indiscretion and you've learned your lesson. With a good enough grasp of the situation and an understanding of what you did wrong, you may survive with a suspension.... Aftr reading the original thread and the following threads I believe that most of this is made up. When confronted with questions, the details change. Honestly I believe you may have been caught speeding but the race and all the other little details is BS. How did you see the vid of your race? Amd then how you one minute say you were racing above 125 mph then the next you was just a bit fast with another vehicle at 87 mph. And the radar thing whether the car was civil or marked you wouldn't pick it up with a radar detector detector anyway unless he had radar. Going 2 miles and a cop following you, then getting to race another 2 miles is another thing too. If you shot past an officer at a high rate of speed you best believe he would have lit up before a mile because if he had a clocking device your speed would have been calculated. I have read a few stories on here that were complete BS but never said anything but this by far is the worst especially since you entered my thread to try to question my credibility as an officer. Like I said GL with your speeding ticket, just don't make it seem like some movie chase as to how u got it.

I'm sorry if I got the wrong impression or read your post wrong. But you just struck me as the kind of reckless driver who gets a kick out of weaving in and out of traffic racing against some idiot. If you genuinely were minding your own business and going over the speed limit, big woop. However in your thread title you are claiming you were "busted" by police, not "framed", "setup" or "blamed"... Busted, in other words being caught in the act. Which makes most of us assume you really were street racing, in which case save it for the track.

The last sentence about me racing the civic was a lie, I made it up just to see how people would react, nah I'm a pretty relaxed driver until you start tail gating me. I usually go 5-10 over, nobody really cares in this town it seems. Went 15 over and a cop motioned me to slow down. Wasn't any traffic or anything.
I used to be reckless seldomly topping out my car when I'm coming home from high school, but that was about.. 4-5 years back. Last time I raced was about.. a year ago? I went up against a PT Cruiser w/ those stupid flashing strobe / disco lights. My 1zz tore him up. Of course it was on a vacant street.

Well, I guess if cars could fly, a vacant street that'd be good to race on would be ideal to land on as well. So I guess we can assume one might land there as well.
When I said vacant street that no cars would be able to pull into, I meant it literally. Like you can assume nobody is going to pull in front of you when you're doing the 1/4 on the drag strip. Well, maybe a woman who's lost + texting on a cell phone might pull in front of you there, soooo we can assume the drag strip isn't a safe place to race either.
