Hey everyone... i just got a 2000 celica gt as my first car and i love it already. I'll post some pics later on. I want to use this site as a reference for mods and to interact with fellow celica owners... so for starters, what are some good starter performance mods?

supra2jz? hmm
Well enjoy your celica, and as far as performance mods go, your first performance mod should be to swap a 2zz into it. As you will soon learn, you can drop 10k into your GT to make it just as fast as a GT-S stock. Suspension mods will go a long way though, coilovers, struts, and sway bars will make your car handle extremely well.
Welcome, and post pics!

He's being sarcastic. Don't mod performance. Get a drop, some nice wheels, kit, lighting, some interior stuffs like aftermarket gauge face, head unit and call it a day. Maybe air intake and a nice exhaust. Those should keep you busy..until you went broke or bored of your celica :D

welcome aboard.read up on here and look to see what others have done to their cars and pick what you like and dont like and see what(costly) mistakes people have made and learn from them.very few mods are cheap and you dont want to be throwing money away just to regret it later on. im pretty sure its agreed that suspension should be on top of your to do list.and before you go out and buy new things look in the "for sal "sections here.lots of people selling things you might be interested in. goo luck with your first car and post some pics

A GT is pretty much pointless to try to make a "fast" car. Focus on making it look fast instead. Keep it clean, as stock as you can, and not race and get busted Haha!
Enjoy the car for its looks and great gas mileage.

Lol what? for 10K you can have yourself a built engine, a nice turbo setup and have money left over to maintain the 250HP+ GT

true, i just remember reading in some thread someone saying something like that. but now that i think abuout it, a fully built turboed 1zz is pretty boos, especially if they're running an E153 like the guy a few weeks ago
