I heard that we should replace the fuel filter every year to maximize power. Then how do you replace the fuel filter?

As far as I know the filter is part of the pump inside the tank. It is odd that they want you to change the filter (however I have not seen it in the owners book) but no easy way of doing it.

Unless your fuel pressure is falling out of spec under accel or at RPM replacing the filter is a watse of time and money.

yeah...anyone...anyone? not the one in the gas tank, but the one under the hood. I imagine it's screwed into the fuel pump or TB?

The only fuel filter is located in the gas tank as a servicable component of the pump / filter / pressure regulator assembly. It looks nothing like the older metal filters. It is translucent plastic and should NOT be changed unless you are having pressure problems.

do you know why they placed it back there? I dont understand why they would do that. when you say it should not be changed unless you are having pressure problems....does this mean the filter will/should last a lifetime?

yes - this is a lifetime filter, or at the very least a 100K filter. It shouldn't be an issue unless you get a ton of debris or sigar ot deisel or somethign in your gas tank. I have never heard of one causing an intake restriction so far, but these have only been in use since the late 90s.
