Ok Ive gone through several threads already and gotten the majority of the wiring mapped out for the install. But can't quite wrap my head around this part even tho its been asked quite a bit..(maybe Im just dense?) :gap: anyhow

Its an Autopage RS730 LCD. Im stuck on the heavy gauge wire harness, mines is a 6 pin as follows:

RED:[FUSED 20A] REMOTE START POWER 1
RED:[FUSED 20A] REMOTE START POWER 2
VIOLET: STARTER (+) OUTPUT
PINK: IGNITION 2 (+) OUTPUT
YELLOW: IGNITION 1 (+) OUTPUT
BROWN: ACC/HEATER (+) OUTPUT

Ok, my first thought was to use only
one RED wired to WHITE (12v)
VIOLET to Blk/Wht
PINK to Blue/Red
YELLOW to Blk/Orn
BROWN to Gray

Pretty straightforward... But after looking at the pdf you posted (http://web.archive.org/web/200701280...htips/1077.pdf) I got confused. So if you have to isolate the IGNITION 1 wire like so in the pdf, pin 85 would go to.. YELLOW IGN 1 (+)? or elsewhere? and also would pins 86 & 87 be for the two RED [fused20] wires?.. Thanks in advance

Does the install manual mention anything about ignition isolation?

The two red wires from the remote start go to a 12v source, it's an input, not an output. 86 & 87 go to a 12v source, not the remote start.

must use both red 12 volt wires from the remote start.

the manual doesnt mention ignition isolation and in one of the threads, isolation wasnt necessary. So an update, I wired it straight forward as I had first thought and remote start works along with the alarm, minus a few options. But it didnt last, I had problems the following day. Turns out the big gauge wire to the alternator burnt off. Im hoping there isnt any additional damage done. We finally got a break in the weather today So im off to the parts store to remedy the burnt wire and grab a relay to do the ignition isolation. So I get that the two RED 12v wires to the remote start and pins 86 & 87 (fused) on the relay should be wired to the WHITE 12v wire under the dash.

But does pin 85 on the relay go to chassis ground or YELLOW: IGNITION 1 (+) OUTPUT on the remote starter?

Thanks for the help guys.

How's things in Reh-Veer?

But does pin 85 on the relay go to chassis ground or YELLOW: IGNITION 1 (+) OUTPUT on the remote starter?Neither.
It is a pull to ground from the remote starter. The idea being that when Remote start is on, it pulls to ground & applies +12V to the ACC (isolated from the key). At rest, the relay simply passes through the voltage from the key.

Everything is covered in snow and frozen, Bill. Thanks for clearifying the relay info. I was lucky enough to wire it in just before the second snow blast and its working like a charm now. Although, the alarm itself doesnt seem to want to lock my doors, only unlock. But I'll get to that when the warm weather comes, I've developed a habit of manually locking all doors before I exit anyways.

So as it is now I have the Black/orange cut with the keyside wired to pin 87a, pin 30 wired back to the car with the YELLOW remote start wire tapped into it. pins 86 and 87 is wired to a fuse holder then to the White wire under the dash. And pin 85 is left alone. So far no issues :gap: Thanks again Bill and the other guys for helping out.
