I bought a passenger side door lock actuator from her. I sent the payment on Tuesday night and she said she would be shipping it out ASAP on Wednesday morning. I sent her a PM saying that I had sent the payment and asking for the tracking number once she ships the item. Wednesday comes and I see that she has logged on, but no reply to my PM. I sent her another one on Wednesday night but once again she doesn't reply, yet I see she has logged on and she even posted in her FS thread. Today I sent her another PM in the morning and no reply. I also sent her an e-mail in the afternoon. Just checked her profile and it says she was online about an hour ago. I have sent her another PM asking that she provide a tracking number by tomorrow because this is getting a bit shady. Because how do you ship something out and not provide a tracking number for the buyer and then not answer his PMs or e-mails for 2 days, especially when you are logging on the site? If you have time to log on and post in your FS thread surely you have time to PM a buyer his tracking number. :shrugs:
I haven't had ANY problems with none of the other sellers I have bought from on this site, communication has always been excellent and tracking numbers have been provided as soon as the item has been shipped. I would like it to continue this way. Now, I'm not saying she is necessarily a bad seller, because perhaps she did ship the item on Wednesday morning, but there is no reason for the absolute lack of communication and tracking number for the item.

I also asked her about that actuator, and I didn't get a reply till the 21st. She told me that she was in the Hospital and that's why she had a delayed response to my PM that I sent a few days before. So maybe she had to go back? Not trying to defend her or trying to say anything.

If she hadn't logged on at all, I probably wouldn't say anything as I know people are sometimes busy. But like I said, if you have time to log on and post in your For Sale thread, I'm sure you have time to PM a tracking number to a buyer.

I mean as long as she shipped the item on Wednesday morning and it gets here fast I don't mind too much. I definitely would have preferred a tracking number though.

Poor communication makes for a bad seller. If she has the time to log into these forums and even post in her for sale thread, then she has the time to take five minuets out of her life and answer a private message with a tracking number. My guess would be she didn't ship it out when she said she would, otherwise, there would be absolutely no reason to dodge you for the tracking number. If she had it, don't you think she would be more confident to give it to you without a second thought...yes.

But definitely agree, if you're so busy you can even send the tracking number through your phone. It only takes a few minutes.

i just received my control arm on 12/24 and i bought it 2 weeks ago. from what she texted me, she was in the hospital for some time and wasnt able to ship things out herself, so she left it to her boyfriend to take care of all that.

How much time had passed when she texted you? I had another seller for the actuator but he told me he wouldn't be able to ship it until after Christmas because he was out of town. She told me she could ship it ASAP which is the only reason I bought it from her. There's no way I'm going to wait 2 weeks to get it or anywhere near that. Not to sound like an a-hole or anything, but if you're so busy that you can't ship items yourself then you shouldn't be accepting payments for items because there is a chance problems (like mine and yours) will occur. Any chance I can get her number so I can text her and ask what's going on?

If you are not ready to ship, then you shouldn't be selling at all. Otherwise you are wasting peoples time. There are a few things I am having a problem understanding. It just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe GTSChick00 can come in here and explain.... If you are in the hospital ... then how is it that you made it to your sale thread and posted in it? - Was it your boyfriend? If it was your boyfriend ... or even you, how come you can't respond to a private message with a tracking number, otherwise why even come online at all? If someone said they needed this item out as soon as possible and you assured that buyer you can ship this out no later than Wednesday ... then make it happen, no expectations, no excuses. Make it happen. If you are in the hospital why would you tell someone you can even make the shipment on a day you knew you couldn't? I just don't understand people like this..and the more people come around with these type of excuses the more it irritates me. Behavior like this is unacceptable... maybe I should start handing out full strikes on sellers. Mess up like this and you won't sell for six months? Maybe this will start getting ugly sellers to straighten their act, or eBay they go!!

My problem is the fact that I need the part right now more than I need the money. Without the actuator I can't install my alarm.
She hasn't even logged in since the 23rd. These transactions should be smooth and simple, there is no reason they should be so damn troublesome. :thumbdown

Just because while you are sitting around waiting for her to log in you could have one shipped and on it's way to you. If you end up getting the one from another member first and then get hers )and that's saying if she even sent it out - which by the looks of it she didn't) just don't accept the package and have it returned. Obviously she hasn't logged in for a few days so chances are if you open a paypal dispute NOW she won't respond to the paypal dispute and it will end in your favor. So without wasting anymore time, do that now and order from someone else.

Honestly, I've thought about this. The other seller that I have for the actuator has a lot of great feedback and told me he'd be able to ship it right after Christmas. Only reason I got it from her is because she said she would ship it ASAP meaning I would have it today or tomorrow by the latest. Now here's the thing, I made the PayPal payment with my Credit Card, is there a way I can call my credit card company and ask them to cancel it or reverse that payment? Because from what I've heard PayPal disputes don't always get you a full refund. If I could be sure that I will get all the money back on the card I won't hesitate to buy the actuator from someone else.
Also, how would I go about filing a dispute, is this done through the PayPal website or by phone?
This is the first time I've had to deal with something like this so any help I can get is extremely appreciated.

I posted twice in her For Sale thread. Since then it has been locked. I have sent 3 e-mails in the rare case that her PMs would be full. She really has no excuse.

Yup. Sorry but that's exactly the way it looks. You open a claim and then she so happens as to come online the next day and respond. Go figure. If I were you, I would still go ahead with the refund but that's up to you. You were promised to have the item shipped out Wednesday and no later. If that didn't happen you should have been notified, especially if she or her boyfriend came into the forums and posted in her own thread. Failure to keep your buyers notified will result in loss of business. You kept your part of the bargain by making the payment as soon as possible, however, she couldn't send the part out on the date she told you she would!

I know that the East Coast was hit pretty hard with snow the past weekend and I live in Maryland myself so I felt some of that snow too. But my problem is you got on the website on Wednesday AND Thursday when you HAD POWER and I had sent about 2 or 3 PMs by then. If you had time to post on your thread twice, then I'm sure a simple reply to one of my PMs with my tracking number wouldn't have been a problem since you said you would send it Wednesday morning (before the Blizzard hit). If you had done that, I wouldn't have minded waiting a few extra days for the package to arrive, but unfortunately you didn't. Put yourself in my position, what would you have done when you didn't hear back from a seller after more than a week when you had already sent the payment and they said they would ship the item ASAP the next day?
By now I have already ordered the part from someone else because I needed it urgently so I don't want the item anymore. I had opened a claim on PayPal for a full refund a couple of days ago, so if you refund my $60 I will gladly close the claim and also post in the Buyer & Seller Feedback thread I made so that your For Sale thread may be re-opened.
I'm sorry our business ended up like this, but communication is crucial to a successful transaction and there was none of that here.

This is what I find funny, she said it would be shipped Wednesday morning. I sent her a PM on Wednesday and Thursday asking for my tracking number, but no replies. Yet she had time to post in her For Sale thread twice during those two days.
What's really stupid is the fact that in the PM she sent me recently she said it had already been shipped out through UPS, yet she didn't provide a tracking number. :faint:

you know what i do not appreciate my forum being blown up when i contacted the buyer and told him all the problems i was having.... i have never had a problem with anyone and peopl have given me great feedback about how fast i ship items ...; i like how i end up in the hospital and fell behind on some stuff and now i am being com pletely bashed like i am horrible ...no body here knows what went on and if you would all like me to forward u the messages i sent to him i would gladly do so..... like i told him io recently got out of the hospital and in the midst of everything my state got hit with 3 feet of snow and he night of the blizzard i was traped in my car on the news for 24 hours on the road.... only to return home and have no internet/phone/or tv...as soon as i could get on the internet i got in contact with the buyer which i informed him i hav had nothing to be able to get online ....ad when i could get on he was the first i would contact.. i dont understand why in his pms he is so nice and then on here acts like i am some scammer... i guess in his life nothing pops up or unexpectedly goes wrong...i also contacted him telling him i had no problem refunding his money and now that he put a claim in i am having problems with fixing the claim while his money is on hold and i have repeatedly asked him for help so this clearly made eveything worse for him when i could have just sent the money back... i am very angry that in the past year i have had great and fast service and can have alot of members on this site vouch for me ...and this has never happend before but like i said come the hell on stuff can happen in life but i did my best with contacting him when i could get to a friends house with the internet any please to all of you stop assuming what kind of person and seller i am because to everyone else i have hooked everyone else up, given away alot of free stuff and went over extreme measures to make people happy thankls

1 more thing i did ship the part also the day before the blizzard hit the north east and i live in jersey and i was contaxcting ups and bc of the 3-4 feets the whole are got ups was all messed up and half the packages were scatter and not where they were suppos to be..staples informed me 3 days after the storm that hopefully everything was found andback on track and geting shiipped...WHICH I TOLD TRD CHAMP...i told im every day was ups was saying to me about all the mix ups bc of the storm and how delayed a ton of packages were in the warehouse and they EVEN GAVE ME A CREDIT TOWARD MY NEXT FEW SHIPMENTS since all the problems i had received with the shipment .... so yesi had to go back and contact ups and sfindthe shipment and stop the process of it so i could get it back when i finall had a comp to go on to find out he wanted a refund ...SO YES I DO NOT SEE ANYONE TALKING ABOUT THAT ? SINCE HE KNEW AL THAT BY TH PMS I SENT HIM AND HOW I WAS TRRYING BUT JERSEY GOT HIT THE WORST 100s of people died in that storm , the state had no money to plow til 4days after is when the roads were cleared so please do not blame something i could not control on me and maybe canon u should wait till u hear both sides before you jump to conclusions

Whoa, first of all, let's get some things straight:
I sent the payment Tuesday night which was 12/21/10
You were supposed to ship the part Wednesday morning 12/22/10
I sent you a Private Message saying that I had sent the payment and asking for the tracking number once you shipped the item. Wednesday comes and I see that you have logged on, but no reply to my PM. This thread was made on 12/23/10 at 9:41pm. If you read carefully, you will notice that I never "bashed" you as you claim, I just simply made this thread to raise awareness of what was going on and to see if I could get some type of response from you since you were not replying to my PMs or e-mails.
After waiting for 5 days with no response whatsoever from you, I followed some good advice in this thread from some very helpful members and I filed a dispute on PayPal on 12/28 and then escalated it to a claim the next day.
When I got your first PM on 12/29, I sent a reply along with a link to this thread. I figured I'd let you say your story on here, but a whole day went by and you didn't reply, post in the thread, or even login again so I decided to post your PM to me along with my reply (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showpost.php?p=5261860&postcount=35)
On your PM to me you said you had some problems, and I said I understood, but I had ALREADY filed a claim, made a thread about the whole situation, and also ordered the part from someone else because I needed it urgently. I asked that you simply refund my $60 and I would close the claim as well as post in here saying that everything had been resolved so that your FS thread would be opened again. The weird thing also was that even though you said you had shipped the item out, you never once provided the tracking number.
After that I didn't get another response from you until 01/02/11.

I didn't save a copy of my reply, but I basically told you that it was ok and that once you refunded my money everything would be good.
I received my actuator from the other seller on 01/03 and installed it the next day.
On 01/06 I got another PM from you:
Hey I went on paypal to refund the money and it shows it was already taken out of my account but it's on hold or something then when I go where it says to resolve the complaint it gives me 3 options like the first one is saying I shipped it te 2nd is saying Somethin else and the 3rd is saying that I refunded the money but there is no other options so when I say j refunded the money since it was taken out of my account it asks for a transaction number so when I put it in it's says it's not the right one '.... I don't know how to get the money out of hold bc of the complaint and I don't know what option to pick I wAs gunna call paypal but I thought I would ask u first if u knew what to do cuz I'm trying to get ur money back ... I just wish there was no complaint filed bc it would have been so easy just to send the money to u like I have done in the past... I just don't know how to get the money off hold I've been trying all day

This is the first time something like this has happened to me, so I wouldn't know. I had to file the claim for security measures. If you don't know what to do, just simply don't do anything because they will just end up refunding me my money on the 8th if there is no action from you. I guess you could always try calling them.

i am not trying to make u look like the bad guy but im sick of u saying i am the bad guy when i explaine everything in detail and i responded to you the first chance i got ..... what do u want me to do if it was staples/ups fault for the delay in delivering? really kept up on it for u so i made sure everything went ok with u ? im am sorry i am not god and cant control a blizzard that messed up 90 percent of the packages delivered staples and ups said .. i even got a credit from ups for the problems they gave me so i can ship my next few items for free! like what r u god or something do bad things not happen in ur life or something and btw ur delay on getting ur money is 100% percent ur own damn fault i would have refunded ur money as soon as i was able to get on a computer bc i have no internet at my house and i even explained that to you i had no problem refunding ur money as long as ups returned my package that is exactly what i said .... im sick of the fct that i am being nice to you and ur out here making me look horrible....
LAMBO- honestly ive been selling stuff for a long time on here and never onceeven came close to having a problem i have always been 100 percent great to whoever purchased my products this is bs and no s*it i bumped my thread bc thats the day i shipped the friggan actuator that was the last day before the blizzard when i lost my whole internet connection u idiot! did u not just hear that everything in jersey was shut down till the 29th and since the 27 until a few days ago i have been fighting with ups and after they found the shipment i had to go through the trouble of getting it returned when it already made it to maryland right before they took it to his house.. so what the hell r u talkin about oh and lambo I JUST MADE IT CLEAR IT IS HIS FAULTFOR NO REFUND I TRIED REFUNDING THE PAYMENT DAYS AGO FOR HIM BUT BECAUSE HE DECIDED TO OPEN A CLAIM FOR NO REASON WITHOUT JUST LETTING ME SEND HIM THE MONEY BACK , THE CLAIM IS HOLDING THE MONEY TILL THEY RELEASE IT ON THE 8TH.... This is the first time something like this has happened to me, so I wouldn't know. I had to file the claim for security measures. If you don't know what to do, just simply don't do anything because they will just end up refunding me my money on the 8th if there is no action from you. I guess you could always try calling them.

Wow, I can't put it any clearer than I already have in my last post. I even bolded the dates to make sure you didn't miss them, but obviously you still don't understand.
I'm going to make this part really clear for you though:
I OPENED THE DISPUTE ON DECEMBER 28TH AND ESCALATED IT TO A CLAIM ON THE 29TH. YOU OFFERED TO REFUND MY $60 ON JANUARY 2ND, 5 DAYS AFTER I HAD ALREADY FILED THE CLAIM. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU OFFERED TO REFUND MY MONEY AND THEN I WENT AND OPENED THE CLAIM, I HAD ALREADY DONE IT WAY BEFORE THAT. I WASN'T GOING TO CANCEL THE CLAIM WHEN IT WAS ALREADY SO CLOSE TO THE DATE THAT I WOULD GET MY REFUND GIVEN THE FACT THAT YOU WERE STILL BARELY LOGGING IN EVERY NOW AND THEN.
You also claim to have a lot of great feedback, yet you have been here since 2008 and you only have 2 iTrader ratings.
This has got to be the most unpleasant and troublesome transaction I've ever had in my life.

First off, no one is "fighting" here. At least I'm not. I'm just trying to get everything cleared up and resolved.
Second, the holidays have nothing to do with the shipping delay, it was the weather. Please re-read the thread before making inaccurate assumptions.
Third, I still haven't gotten my money back. Not yet anyway.
My iTrader rating is actually 4, and that's not bad for having only joined 2 months ago; especially considering I've only been buying and not selling. Like I said before, I'm not saying she is a bad seller, I see that she does have some good feedback so I'm not taking that away from her. I sincerely hope that all of this gets solved by tomorrow. In my short time here I have grown to love this forum, had some excellent trouble-free transactions, learned a lot about my car, been to a Celica meet and met a lot of cool fellow Celica owners in my area. I don't want this to interfere with any of that and I can only hope that nothing like this ever happens again.

Hospital or not you were logged on. Without taking two seconds to write a simple pm.
I wouldnt wait two weeks with no communication. Papal and credit card charge back.
It's january 8th and he still has no product nor refund? Yep, good seller. I say this based on your actions, you csn sit behind a computer and type all you want but it won't change the fact it was never shipped and I'm guessing isn't anytime soon.

Note to yourself: If you are going to have your boyfriend or whoever it was post in your thread updating people on whats available while your 'disappearance' then they should learn to respond to private messages from people who are waiting on their parts or at least update them on YOUR current situation. What I still see as a discrepancy is how the posts were made in the "for sale" thread that LamboCeliGTS quoted in post # 47 above. If she didn't make them, who did? I highly doubt someone "hacked" her account and made these 3 convenient posts. People speculated her boyfriend typed them (he makes the same spelling errors and uses smiley faces?), but unless I've missed it, it was not confirmed. The only thing I caught was that she said that if her post had been bumped, it wasn't done by her. This ISSUE is huge in terms of buyer/seller trust, as it does indeed look downright suspicious. Trying to cover something up will only backfire.
Which brings me to something else--proper spelling and grammar are required for successful communication (in any aspect of life). I'm sorry, but GTSChick00's posts are downright painful to read. And as an outsider to this situation, the way GTSChick00 is responding to this issue in public is also rather "off the rail" meaning it doesn't seem to take much to set her off (not good from a buyer's perspective). TRDChamp wasn't calling anyone a scammer or bad seller. He was simply trying to get communication going, and had every right to post this publicly. There have been enough bad transactions on this board, and a lot of people are on edge now.
P.S. touting how great a seller you are, etc.... will likely end up backfiring on you in the end. YOU don't define how great a seller you are. Your buyers do. Feedback also means nothing. There are other threads, including a sticky, describing this. That, and she only has 89 posts total (in other words, not much "public" history on this forum).
All that being said, I do not see GTSChick00 as a "shady seller" and she hasn't "earned" the honor of being on the Shady Seller's list. This is just my .02, and I do not know either party involved, but this issue overall is a great example of how proper communication is important, and what you say, or do not say, IS publicly monitored and people ARE watching. I WOULD HOPE THE PEOPLE RUNNING FORUMS WOULD CARE ABOUT THEIR VISITORS AND MEMBERS BUT OBVIOUSLY IT IS CLEAR THAT THEY DONT AND I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I WAS TREATED THE WAY I SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHEN I WAS CLEARLY EXPLAINING MY SIDE AND CLEARLY DID NOT DO ANYTHING WRONG OTHER THEN THE THINGS I COULD NOT CONTROL LIKE UPS AND MY INTERNET...AND ALSO WHILE I AM GETTING TEAMED UP ON AND BASHED I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYONE THAT HAS CONTROL ON THIS SITE TRY TO HELP STOP THE BASHING TO AN INNOCENT MEMBER .. Btw to get this cleared up for the 100th and last time..
I was on dec 23 and i did post a bump!
I am not trying and did not try to cover it up i am admitting i logged in so pease people stop saying i am trying to cover up like someone hacked my account!
The item was already shipped out!
I was only on the forum for 2 min till i got called away by my family before i could pm trd to notify him of the shipment being shipped and when i came back a few hours later my internet was shut off
i am very sick of people not reading my posts like 5 days ago i clarfied this just like i clarified i tried to refund his money earlier than he even wanted but i culdnt be paypal took and and had it on hold and i even fought withpaypal to help him
most of everything i read still has most of the information wrong about the situation so please people read the posts before anyone comments im tired of repeating myself and fighting

Typing in all caps doesn't necessarily add credibility.. At least it seems you attempted to use spell check.
It boils down to this:
-Poor communication
-No tracking number or conformation sent
-Lying about bumping a FS thread
Your story keeps changing.

GTSChick00--your reputation is NOT ruined. But you do need to calm down. While I do not know what it's like to be on your side of the fence, I do know what it's like to be on TRDChamp's side. I've been involved with 2 sellers that ARE on the Shady Seller's list, so I guess you could say I've "worked with the best of them." One of them still owes me a few hundred dollars. Either way, I'm not defending either side of this issue. Rather, I am providing an outsider's perspective (and possibly how other people see the situation). In post # 45 (1st page of this thread), you stated to Lambo that: "LAMBO- i never came on and bumped anything-BC I HAD NO INERNET AND IF THERE IS A BUMP THEN THAT WAS NOT ME THANKS" when he commented that you had time to bump your for sale thread but did not have time to reply to your buyer's PM(s) or provide the tracking # he had been expecting. So, this initially appeared to be a cover up of some sort (sorry, but it did). But you've explained it more fully now (e.g. only had 2 minutes before being called away). At that time when you bumped your thread, I'm assuming you meant to bump your thread, AND continue reply to PM's, etc... and finish up your communications. I doubt you anticipated a massive storm to barrel down on you and cause a series of issues beyond your control that were going to prevent you from getting back on the Internet to finish up (and prevent your package from being delivered on time even though you DID ship it when you said you did). Perhaps TRDChamp could provide the tracking info himself for the package, and post it in this thread so we can have further proof that you really did drop it off when you said you did. The tracking info will show when the drop-off by you was made and the package entered into the tracking system. You (GTSChick00) could post the tracking info yourself, but it will look better coming from a buyer. Nothing personal against you, but it looks more "believable" coming from anyone else BUT you.
I live in Minnesota and we get a lot of snow too, so these "mother nature" issues can certainly happen. I had an online order (from an actual store) delayed an extra week and a half because of a storm system at about the same time. I think the biggest issue/red flag, as I see it, was when you stated in public that you didn't bump your thread (when you actually did). This raised suspicions, and I'm sure it significantly changed how TRDChamp was viewing this transaction (though only he would know). Hopefully you've learned something about this from a buyer's perspective.
Hindsight is always 20/20, and "shoulda coulda woulda," but this transaction would have been a lot different had you had a chance to send off a tracking # or quick note following up that you shipped when you said you did. If anything, please just see my words as friendly advice on helping to make sure you are the best seller you can possibly be, and to be consistent about it.
There have been plenty of "good" sellers, and some of the "best" ended up being the worst in the end. They weren't consistent, and they faltered towards the end and caused their own demise. Why? Because they no longer kept communication open, were telling people different stories, were frequently coming on to the forum but ignoring people's PM's (why people got jumpy with you), and basically just took people's money and didn't do anything more than that.
I know becuase I was involved with 2 sellers, one of which had lots of "good" feedback. Something went very wrong on their part, and we don't know what, but they took people's money and left, despite having many previous good transactions. One of these people tried to come back after a couple years of absence to try and sell more junk, and he apparently hoped we'd either forgotten about his serious mistakes, or just didn't care, but once he was confronted about "righting his previous wrongs" he conveniently disappeared again.
One additional comment. You (meaning any of us) can say anything we want to, but actions speak louder than words, and "proof" means everything. You can say you were in the hospital, you can say you were in a storm, etc.... but if there are "trust" issues going on, those statements can mean very little and people won't believe you (regardless of the truth of those statements). I was almost going to comment in this thread that there sure are a high # of NC.org sellers that mysteriously end up in the hospital right after taking someone's money but before they were able to ship the package. I was told the same story by one of those previous sellers I mentioned above. Then the story changed to "busy at work," "ill family member," and so on and so forth. I think he actually forgot who he was telling what excuse to. Other buyers were communicating to each other about one particular seller, and we found out we were getting different excuses for the delay of our packages. Talk about a break down in trust at that point.
But in your case, yes, we believe you that a major winter storm was present. It was all over the news, and you'd have to be living under a rock to NOT know the storm was present. I have first hand experience in weather-related shipping delays too. This was about the time our Vikings football Metrodome roof had collapsed from a similar storm (possibly the same storm before it moved East).
Whether or not you were actually in the hospital is none of my or anyone else's business and you don't need to provide proof of it--but please understand some consequences of making that sort of statement. If you are going to say "I was in the hospital," people like me might roll their eyes because we've heard this reason/excuse before and sometimes statements like that can haunt you for a while, even if they are true (because they are hard to prove).... And when you combine such statements with other things going on (such as the issue of your thread being bumped), it just doesn't help the seller's "character." Also note that there will always be people who are NOT involved in the situation making comments that aren't true, or as you said don't know the real facts, and it's just something we all have to deal with. This forum in particular is "sensitive" because of all the issues that have been happening, and people are chomping at the bit to jump on someone. Moving forward, you now better understand that sensitivity and why it exists.

And just to clear something, I never said it was "both our faults". I said it was neither mine, and not yours either because of the things you said happened to you. I never did anything wrong in this transaction.

i know no trans # was provided bc i lost my internet when i was going to go on to pm u the trans # this is what i have been saying and by the time i went on this whole mess started so i was dealing with this mess and the refund so it was unecessary at that point ...either way trd champ got his refund back i wish it would have been quicker but thanks to paypal there was a little but of a hold up, i got my shipment back from UPS and trd champ and canon both agreed it was a bad mistake and im not a bad seller ...i am really getting sick of thinking bout this thread!! so lets be done with it and move on lolol !
