Hi all, first off let me say hi to everyone. I am looking at getting a 2001 Celica. I would really like it to be the GT-S model but all the person tells me is that it is a TRD I would love to go look at it and inspect it myself to find out but its about 2 hrs away. So I guess my question is- Is the Celica TRD a GT-S model as well? or no. He is telling me that he thinks its a GT-S because its TRD but I just wanted to get some more opinions before I go out of my way to go see it!

Thanks in Advance!

It could either be a GT-S, OR a GT. When he says it's a "TRD edition", it most likely has the TRD Action Package (factory body kit):

If if it's a GT, I wouldn't even bother. From what GT owners say on here, they would rather have bought a GT-S. Good luck!

Tell him to take a look at the engine bay. First of all, if it's got the stock engine covers, it'll say VVTL-i if it's a GT-S (make sure he didn't just swap that cover in by making sure the intake manifold is aluminum and not plastic –*GT is plastic).
What kind of guy doesn't even know if the car he's selling is a GT or GT-S? :ugh:

This is a GT (has rear drums). Also, there is nothing "TRD" about the car. That is a WW kit, not mechanical. The price would still be good if the guy's post wasn't so sketchy. I wouldn't trust the car given the lack of honesty. Be patient and keep looking.

Looks like a "kids car"... Stray away from those.
