"The dealer/vehicle manufacturer has the right to deny a warranty repair but they must demonstrate that the aftermarket part caused the problem."

Just be prepared to explain why your cold air intake didn't cause you transmission to blow up.

warranties are mostly in place to steal money from the consumer.

Good news of course, but knowing dealerships try to bail out on even stock cars sometimes, expect them to put up a fight on modified ones anyways. :chuckles:

You dont have to explain shat

and why wouldn't you have to explain anything? You know they will try to blame any problem on the aftermarket part that you installed.

the extra 2whp were too much for the transmission to handle, beyond its designed capacity and thats what caused it to break.

actually you'd be surprised how advanced failure analysis has become.

Didn't you read? The law says the dealership have to prove in details that the aft part is the one causing the problem, not just blaming it.

this type of law has been in place for as long as i can remember in australia and as stated by others even then dealers try everything to blame the after market part on what has gone wrong ...... it then becomes extremely painful and very annoying to fight it out to try and get ur way ....... although it says they must prove it in almost all cases ive seen it turn into u prove to us it was the part at fault ...... trust me i have heard of some extreme and shocking stories from people trying to get warranty fixes done only to have irrelevant after market parts put to blame.
