Toyota has decided (very quickly with no arguements at all) to put in a new 2002 transmission into my 2000 GT-S. It will have the updated gear ratios, shift gate, and hopefully fix my synchro problem which has plauged me from day one.

Wish me luck, I'm assuming my car is going to feel slightly faster with the new ratios? Any 2002 owners comments? My rev limiter will still be at around 8300.

Now, I wish I could eliminate the dip before 6000 rpms (S-AFC I suppose).

COOL DEAL..heheh..

Should be quite interesting..first thing I'd do would be to put it on the dyno, to check the numbers!!!

Good luck, bro...I know you've had problems..but hopefully this all works out!

Just think..lol..you're unique now!! Hah!

Hey Sonic, good to hear they're going to fix it.

What kind of Synchro problems have you had?

5th gear. Anytime I would upshift from 5-6th it would grind. It was getting ridiculous.

I'm quite aware of the fact that if you just throw into gear to fast you can burr or shatter a synchro (just brass). I don't do that. The car was babied after my 4th gear synchro was replaced. Moreover, I double clutch everytime I downshift (cluth in, neutral, clutch out, rev, clutch in, shift).

Let me ask this, when I shift at around 7800 on a 2002 transmission, where am I going to land - over or under 6g's?

Last I heard the "new" gear ratios were the same as the "old" gear ratios.

I'll be interested to hear your results as well.
