Well i'm in the process of upgrade my side view mirror to jdm style, one week ago i could get a jdm mirror switch from japan with folding mirror button here's a pic with my new switch, in yahoo japan they have the complete wire and above all the mirrors.
As soon as the parts arrived i'll going to update my thread
switch installed looks very good:

Rear view mirror or side mirrors? I'm assuming that's a 'fold side mirror' button to have them fold in when parking in a tight spot....

JDM mirrors are going to have the flat and curved mirrors on the opposite sides and the range of adjustment is unsuitable for left hand drive, you won't be able to get a useful field of view with them. Still, it's a cool feature.

right, side rear view mirror, and when the jdm mirrors arrived i'll see if we can change the mirror mechanism since i think the only difference it's the motor that moves de mirror; if we can do a swap the mirrors would be no problem but well see.

I did the same thing with my 91 supra, put JDM power folding mirrors but the field of view on them SUCK since they are made for RHD cars. Still make sure to upload pics and stuff and if the mirrors can be swapped even better =)

I always wondered why more people didn't add these, now I know about the bad field of vision.
Here's hoping you can swap motors.

Ok, this is the jdm harness with extra wires; All of this will take some time cause i'm getting the parts from japan and not all of those are available at this time

Here's and update, to complete the new harness we must remove the speaker and after that take off the factory harness cause we are going to swap the new wires to keep the oem look, from the JDM RH harness we're going to take first 2 extra wires that make the folding function works; this two wires are coming from the mirror connector R13 (blue with black stripe and silver spots and aqua with black stripe) to the junction connector J11 (13 pin):
Here you can see connector R13 with the new wires installed in position 2 and 6; the 3 wires above controls the up/down horizontal mirror aligment
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/8607/26032011177.jpg
This pic shows the same wires installed in the junction connector J11 in positión
blue b and aqua c; this part it's critical to avoid a shorcut and the reason it's the male connector, the JDM it's blue and US it's white we need to change this connector.
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4521/26032011176.jpg
The code for the US connector it's different than JDM in order to support folding mirror feature, so after knowing these we must change the place of some factory wires.

http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/5186/22042011221.jpg
Next step it's swap the same color wires that going from J11 blue b and aqua c to remote control mirror conector R15 (10pin)
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/433/22042011223.jpg
To end this side we must take the 3rd pair of blue and aqua wires that going from J11 to IA1 connector, this one it's the blue that it's located under the driver side kick panel; this connector has only two spaces letf, stick the wires there; try all the basic functions before reinstall everything. Forget the circle this shows the wires from speakers violet and pink
http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/9892/79241615.jpg
After that reinstall the speaker, install door card and mirror switch

As I promise here's the rest of the installation; must say that install the side mirror itself was far more easy than I thought.
In this pic it's show the basic difference betwen USDM and JDM mirrors, it's just the plastic base and it's a direct bolt on in USDM mirror!!! but as you can see it's the angle of the base that changes the view angle, nothing less, nothing more.
http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/4416/29102011659.jpg
This two pics show tree screws on the base, fist it's USDM and the other JDM there's no difference
http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/1303/29102011660.jpg
http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/4105/29102011661.jpg
This JDM connector, it has two more pins lite gren and blue with black strip
http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/9912/29102011662.jpg
When you has unscrew the base you will see this, JDM on the right shows the folding motor mechanism
http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/7070/29102011664.jpg
This is the final process without the connector wich is neccesary to remove in order to extract the wiring loom without cuting it

This it the pic of the piece that make the difference

I found another way to set the rear view field on the passenger mirror without removing the base; consist in remove the mirror glass and cut the couple of plastic stopers that prevent the mirror to move far to the left, if you cut aproximately 4mm you would have a better angle from the jdm mirror itself.
