Anyone has this problem:
Every time the car gose through a steep dip, a thud sound is present. The sound seems to be coming from the driver side wheel. It sounds like the strut is hitting the top without any bushing support.
Does anyone have this problem or knows what's wrong??
The car is a 2002 Celica, GT with 4K miles.

Can we assume your car is still stock?
If it is still stock, I'd take it to Toyota. Could be something major, could be something minor. Major = faulty whel bearing, minor (though a major safty condern) = loose wheel.
There was a long time where the techs prepping the cars would forget to remove some rubber spacers from the springs. The spacers are there to help stabilize the car during shipping (you don't need to crank it down as far with the tie straps). If those rubber piedes are still there, then they should be removed and your problem should disappear.
Not to be insensitive, but could the drivers side suspension be overloading? How much do you weigh?

Yes the car is completly stock, and my wife is the person driving the car. She only weigh 95 lbs, so I'm sure it's not a weight issue.
Thanks for the comment though, I'll check on that (spacer), and if no ones else knows, guess it'll have to go to the dealer.

LOL
Looks like it isn't a weight issue (maybe there isn't enough there...).

i had the same problem, the strut nut is loose, even if you do not mod your car this can happen, lift up your hood and take off the rubber circle on top of the strut assembly, then tighten the nut, i don't know how much torque it needs, i tightened it as hard as i could, after that try going over a speed bump slow, if it doesn't feel/sound like it's hitting your hood you're good so far, then take it over the speed bump at around 20 mph, thats what i did, you should be okay if it still doesn't make a sound. i hope this solves your problem.
