Well i don' tkonw what i was doing wrong but how could the clutch go that fast. I redlined it mabye 5-6 times at most in a month and i don't understand how the clutch went that fast. Somebody tell me what i am doing wrong??

it is probably the way you shift and stuff. You are riding the clutch therefore it burns out quicker. I would tell the toyota to cover it under warranty..shiet i mean c'mon only after a month? phuck dat...

How many miles did you travel in the month?

Damn its possible to "glaze" the clutch if its not broke in properly. Maybe you glazed the surface and it slips now. All new clutch needs a break in period.

There is no chance in hell that a dealership will give you a new clutch under warranty. They classify it as a wear and tear part like tires. Doesn't make much sense though.

Sliping the clutch: When you slowly engage the clutch petal, and/or excessively rev the car while engaging the clutch.

Redlining the car while the clutch is fully engaged has nothing to do with wearing the clutch.

The only time you are wearing the clutch is while you are engaging/disengaging it.

Err, I don't have this problem, but just how fast should we be pressing the clutch and shifting (in daily driving)? I tend to do it pretty quickly...is that bad?

what he's saying is, when you drive a manual, you push the clutch down to put it in gear, as you are accelerating (and releasing the clutch at the same time) to start the car moving, if you accelerate too hard and release the clutch too slow, you basically have like two plates coming together. One is moving really fast and the other is not moving...it causes friction and it burns. You need to learn how to basically apply not too much gas, but enough so you don't stall and release the clutch quick.

The key question is: How many MILES are on your car? Also, your subject heading says you bought it used. If that is true how many miles did it have when you bought it?

You probably did not wear out the clutch in one month. Give us the facts, man!
