I have been thinking about getting my own orbital polisher.
I am looking for pros and cons though...someone said in a post at one point that you can screw your car up or that you have to know what youre doing with a polisher???
anyway home depot has a Ryobi Orbital for 29.95
I have also been looking at at the ones here"

Can anyone give me some advice..pros and cons....ability to get rid of swirls..worse case scendarios : D
lemme know!
Check out this link: http://meguiars.com/clinics/clinics_template.cfm . It is a selection of videos off the Meguiar's site. Look at the one for polishing.
Then hit up this link Coastal Tool (http://coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/port/pr7424.htm?L+coastest+cfzg4347ff98a098+1027182790) . I picked one up the other day. It is a sweet deal since you get the 6" counterweight and the velcro backing plate.
Finally go here:Porter Cable Pads (http://www.properautocare.com/porcabackit.html) So you can get a nice selection of pads at a nice price.
You should be set.

sweet! So is it recommended to use this type of polisher with zainos polish?
That is a subject of debate. Some swear by using one with Zaino others do not. I am of the group that does it by hand.
I bought it mainly for my girl's car. It was used and not well taken care of. I used 3M SMR then put the Zaino on.
It insured that the surface was perfect with no waterspots or such under the Zaino.

The Porter Cable is definately the way to go. I've used the cheezy Waxmaster one's before and, while they do get the job done, they aren't half as thorough as the higher-end stuff. However, if you don't wax/polish very often you should be fine with one of them. It's also a matter of how much you want to spend. I'll be ordering one of the Porter Cables pretty soon here. Thanks for the link to a cheap place!! Better than paying $225!!!

A little more info. I found these pads (http://meguiars.com/product_showroom/showproducts_template.cfm?SrcLine=PT&SrcCat=0) for only $25 for three. Look near the bottom of the page. Since everyhwere I have looked they seem to want like $10 for each pad its not bad at all.

Check out www.griotsgarage.com and read up on their Porter Cable random orbital polishing system, machine, pads and waxes etc.. I was able to buy the exact same machine (model #7336SP) at Loews for $90 and the velcro pad holder for $15, a lot cheaper without their carrying case and the vacuum hose atatchment.
Seach for a thread called, "Product review of the Porter Cable random orbital polisher" or something like that by Jay the forum's moderator for more info on it.

My orbital from Griot's garage is awesome. I totally believe that anyone who loves their car should get one for sure. bme107 got the right idea. I got a good deal from griots for mine, but brad got a better one for the same idea. I have the numbers as does he, so if you need it get ahold of someone.
Hope it helps
