hiper headlights = illegal?!?

okay.. so i'm on my way home earlier tonight and i get pulled over by a po po... i wasnt speeding or anything, so im like what the hell. then she says, you know your lights are illegal? i'm like... uhhh no... she says they have a blue tint to them which makes them illegal. unfortunately, i have no way to tell if the hiper lights are DOT approved or whatever because the box is written in chinese (literally). they look pretty damn close to white to me. i had in a blue LED on my passenger headlight, but I don't think she noticed that. I noticed my driver side one was blown a couple days ago, so I replaced it with the factory parking light. I ain't gonna replace **** though. She ticketed me for "faulty equipment," which gives me a $43 fine and no points. Think its worth it to take it to court? I don't want my parents to find out though, and I live with them.

I'm very interested to know if anyone knows the exact legality of "Hiper Industries Plazma Xenon H3" lights in Florida.

Is the bulb crystal clear? If not then she has grounds to give you the ticket. Even if it's being overly picky.

i think you can fight it...

if anything... it shouldn't be a "faulty equipment" ticket, it should be a fix-it ticket... so that's wrong...

i had my celi for over 1 year and a couple months... i've had hyper whites for the whole time and no one said sh*t...

i dunno, it might be a hassle just to fight the ticket... it's a tough call... i'd prolly just pay it, cuz i'd be too lazy to fight a 43 dollar ticket

the bulb is blue. but its not like she can actually tell, since the headlight is so thick you can't see the bulb. The bulbs of my brights are blue too and they are visible, but I didn't have them on.

I think I'll just pay the ticket though. I mean its bullsh*t though. I've passed 100 cops that havn't done jack about it. I think she was just trying to be a bitch and was having trouble finding people to pull over at 3 in the morning in rural osceola county. Whatever though. I'm not replacing them.

And I did expect a fix-it ticket, but I had never gotten a ticket before so I'm not really that familiar with the law :p I didn't know what qualifies as fix-it and what qualifies as fine, so I didn't question her.

By the way, what the hell takes them so long to write a damn ticket anyway? Getting pulled over becomes a 20 minute ordeal and all you get is a slip of paper with a few words on it.

did you have your fogz on too?...and if so...are they blue too?...if not, your headlights will look alot blue-er than the fogs...making the po po's act up

I got the HIDs in all of my lights, parking (which is more cystal like), lows, highs, fogs, turning signals, everything... sooo they do have a slight blue to them but that cop was just annoyed with ya for something else and they needed a reason to pull you over soooooooo just take it up the ass and pay it, if your parents find out ?? why they mad ? you weren't speeding no points, just 49 buckaroos; big deal!

they are the police, and police dont like cars with mods... legal or not... and police can pull you over at the speed limit and give you a 15 over ticket if they want, and can pull you over out of the blue and dump a mound of pot in your car and arrest you if they want... its best to just look stock and not draw attention to yourself, visibly - or audibly...
cause legal or not, if a cop wants you - he or she WILL get you... lol

just trust me, you fight it, show your headlights to the "judge" to which the cop responds "hes changed his headlights since the ticket" ofcourse being aftermarket there is proof of the headlights having been tampered with - your case is gone lol

just pay it and replace them - or dont, and when that cop sees you again - pay it again, and hope they dont get you for something else as revenge
