Hello,
I have a 2001 Celica (the Netherlands, Europe). I need isofix brackets to attach a baby seat. I think my car doesn't have those brackets, but it's hard to find info about it on the internet. Is it possible to mount those brackets afterwards? Can I buy a set of brackets, or is it possible to use existing screw holes, or is it possible to drill some holes?
Thank you very much for your answer in advance!
Kind greetings,
Jeroen

Here in the states they didn't start mandating them in cars until model year 2002.
If you need to have them, you should be able to get them off of a wrecked '02-'05 Celica from the parts yard, and install them yourself. Or you could order them from one of the Toyota vendors on the forum. Rafa could probably help you out if you give him a part number. Take a look in the Tech sections for the body components. I hope this helps!
Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your fast answer!
I think getting the brackets is not my real problem, but it's the missing mounting points in my car that's the problem (IF they miss at least, I read on the internet about 1999 Audi's that don't yet have the isofix, but do already have the screw holes, I don't know what my car has got or has not got).
I'm not a handy man myself, so I need to figure out if and how it's possible to mount the brackets to the chassis of my car, so I can get that done by the car dealer or so.
So do you know if it's possible AT ALL to mount brackets to the chassis of my 2001 Celica, and how?
Kind greetings,
Jeroen

I wish somone had a picture of their 2003 or later with the rear seats removed. On my 2000 there is a bolt head on the inboard side where the iso-fix bracket [BRACKET SUB-ASSY, CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR, LH (or RH)] could be fastened. But I can't tell. I also can't tell what it goes to on the outboard side.
Look's like you'll have to cut some slits in your seat too.

Hi deltaB,
Thank you very much for your detailed answer!!!
Unfortunately the dealer says there are no mounting points for isofix brackets in my 2001 Celica. I can't find any bolts myself, too. Only one in the middle, where to back seat itself is mounted. I think I'll have to try to use the safety belts for the baby seat.
Of course, if there's someone who HAS found a way to mount isofix brackets in a 2001 Celica, I would love to hear it!
Kind greetings,
Jeroen
