Shiz and fab forum,

Whats the best material to use for ducting the radiator and brakes or whatever?

I can pick up some aluminum from homedeopt or lowes and cut then rivet that to the bumper.
Any better ideas or tips?
I gotta do something with summer coming, the cars already trying to overheat.

I'll def add water wetter also.
It seems like i'm gonna have to run a summer coolant mix and a winter coolant mix.

Anything that's not flammable or that'll absorb flammable materials should work. It also needs to be sufficiently rigid so it just doesn't blow around. Are you stock (or close to it)? Ducting will certainly aid cooling but you definitely shouldn't be overheating if you're stockish.

The car itself is far from stock. Here in jax it gets hot sitting in traffic. I need to run extended wires for the fans so they'll kick on. On average I'm looking at 88 centigrade but I know the fans kick on at 93 and I certainly don't want to overheat the car. The hottest its gottenthis season is 97. And it scared me a lil. The last thing I wanna do is kill that motor after all the money that's on it..

Look into maybe running a lower thermostat then (if you don't already have one) may also want to look into a standalone fan controller if your computer can't control them.

isnt the trd thermostat rated to kick at 160 instead of 180? i know its not recommended for most daily drivers since it'll slow the initial warmup down quite a bit.

I run a 160 thermostat and it still heats pretty fast

Maybe you can put a better Fan and shroud
in place of the stock one, stock really
dosen't move much air blaa-blaa-blaa to me.

T-fal make a very nice twin fan set-up ,
a single set-up woud be easier to istall
but will not cool as much., Some Fabrication
would be involved, Hmmm!

I'm using a SPAL one, though there are cheaper units that do the same thing, I just got mine secondhand from a friend.

Looks nice, make sure you save a template in case you f*ck it up (saves time). Did you get the fans working again?

Still havent extended the wires. :/
I did more work on the wire tuck in the car, took the dash out and re-sprayed it.
Now my power locks don't work. I can turn the headlights on and off as i please. And the fuel gauge doesnt work. Any ideas?

lol thanks. Used ones in the area run 1100 installed. not too bad. IMO so worth it. Considering a second one bc that ones always taken lol

Also just to show how awesome this mod really is,
outside temp today was 90 deg F. in slow moving traffic coolant stayed below 84 deg C

how did you secure it to the subframe?

how did you secure it to the subframe?

Its not it only rests on top of it.
Its secure to the bumper, then there are brackets that hold the lower portion of the bumper closer to the frame. And keeps it from shaking at higher speeds.
