You can give it to me ;) I was gonna buy one but instead I got the Celica. Honda is overpriced and their service sucks ass... besides the fact that everyone and their preppy brother has one. For an SH (which is heavy as hell), they wanted 26k. I got my Celica for 23k and it handles better (than a reg 'lude) and is faster. I smoked my friends 97 SH with intake headers and exhaust with only my CAI, and you guys are supposed to have 20 hp on us already! Another reason I didn't buy it is because I had a 94 Prelude SI and it was a POS. I got it with 47k, my ac went, motor mounts snapped, knock sensor went, and the tranny was going so I got rid of it. Kinda shattered my confidence in Honda... anyhow now after all this crap with my Celica, I just think I'm destined to have bad luck with cars.

Yea prelude's were damn expensive, and heavy-ass tanks. And our gearing is horrible too, definately needed to be 6-speed. And ****, prelude VTEC came out in 93 with 190 hp, all the way to 2001, 200 hp.. same damn engine, 10 hp increase, in almost 10 years.. 1 hp per year.. if we atleast did 5 hp per year.. oh boy..
but yes preludes are god damn heavy. When the 7th gen celica came out i really wanted to see it, but then i heard the "180 hp" i was like "wut the hell are they thinkin" of course i didn't know anything about vvtli. Then i happened to read the coupes de grace redux from caranddriver.com.. (http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/comparisontests/1999/December/199912_comparisontest_coupe.xml?keywords=prelude)
basically the prelude finished first, eclipse gt 2nd, and gt-s 3rd.. all the other cars who cares =-P. and the gt-s was actually slower than the prelude and eclipse in the 1/4 mile. Of course it was based on the driver, i mean i've heard about gt-s' hittin mid-high 14s bone stock.. where the fastest i've heard a prelude stock was 14.9. =-T.
Anyway back to the original thing about being worth it or not, the lude was not worth it's price, not enuf features for the price. but the rsx-s on the other hand.. it's a celica with leather seats, 6-disc indash cd changer, automatic climate control, subwoofer(which kinda sucks), and other ****, all standard. for like just about the same price isn't it?
if i had a choice between the rsx, prelude, and gt-s? i'd pick the rsx for overall ****, but for looks i'd pick the lude. price i'd pick gt-s.

I have leather seats in my celi. ;) And its knitpicking, but most reviews on the rs-x and celica usually put the celica up front performance-wise ( I think it wins every category except for straightline speed, which is very close anyways).

hehe yeh esp on the pre 02's, what yr is your dads? I'm guess pre02 due to the speaker problem and no chrome trim around the tail lights, at least from what I can see. Is he a member as s2ki.com? The picks look awesome, nothing prettier than black when it's clean.

Actually my 94 si had 160hp. The S had 135hp I think. The prelude never had anywhere near 200 hp until the new model in 97.

Actually, Prelude Si VTEC's had 190 hp (1993-up). H22A engine. I had the JDM version of that engine transplanted into my old Civic.

yea 1992 only offered the 160 hp version, 1993-1996 had 190 hp VTEC engines
and 97-98 had 195 hp
99-01 had 200 hp
(unless they were automatic, then it's 5 hp less =-X)

I just traded my 01 prelude for an 02 gts. I got great prices on both. Only paid 22k for both b4 taxes and ****. I like my prelude better now because i just found out there is a rev limiter on the 02 models that kick in at 7600 rpms. Prelude is faster, but celica handles better. More mods for honda engines and barely anything for the gts in mods. All in all if the i get a new ecu for my gts to bypass this problem my gts will be a lot faster than a lude. But i still am pissed and like my lude better for now
